As a weekly regular at North Italia, I am utterly appalled and deeply disappointed by the treatment I and my entire team received on my most recent visit. For 4.5 hours, my party and I enjoyed a leisurely meal, ordering appetizers, entrees, and drinks at a reasonable pace, averaging one to two drinks per hour. We've spent a substantial amount of money at your establishment, week after week, and considered ourselves valued patrons.
Despite our consistent loyalty, we were abruptly cut off, denied any further drinks or food, and effectively told to leave. The justification? That our "welcome" had expired. No prior warning and a complete disregard for the fact that we were regular, paying customers. I spoke to two different managers. The waiter who was our 3rd made the decision to management even though the other two had been extremely friendly, courteous and accommodating. I knew both of them from being a regular there!
To be treated in this manner by ONE waiter and management, after dedicating so much of my time and money to your restaurant, is an absolute insult. I've recommended North Italia to friends and family, and always spoken highly of the food and atmosphere. Now, I feel betrayed and will never do so again. I will recommend Postino's and Blano rather than North Italia and will share how disrespected we were.
The "hospitality" I've come to expect from my weekly visits was replaced with cold indifference. The ONE waiter's demeanor shifted dramatically, and we were made to feel like an unwelcome inconvenience.
It's clear that North Italia prioritizes turning tables over valuing its loyal customers. I am beyond disappointed that my consistent patronage means so little. This experience has completely shattered my trust and loyalty in your establishment.
I will no longer be a customer, and I will be sure to share this experience with others. If you value your loyal customers, you will reconsider your policies and how you treat those who support your business week in...
Read moreAs someone who’s visited North Italia quite a few times—especially the Scottsdale Kierland location—this was our first visit to this new location, and I have to say, it was absolutely gorgeous. Much more spacious than its sister restaurant, with a lovely outdoor seating area that I can already tell will be a go-to spot once the weather cools down.
Service was excellent—everyone we interacted with was super friendly and attentive. For drinks, I tried the Ciao Bella cocktail, and it was light, refreshing, and delicious—perfect for the summer.
We started with a couple of appetizers: the crispy eggplant parmesan, which ended up being my favorite dish of the night. Fair warning—it has a spicy kick, which I personally loved, but if you’re not into heat, it might not be for you. We also had the grilled bread with olive oil, which was crispy, cheesy, and full of flavor—classic comfort food.
The Tuscan kale salad was another win for us. We’ve had it many times at the Kierland location, and it never disappoints—still one of our favorites.
Now for the entrees: I ordered the lasagna bianca, which unfortunately didn’t hit the mark. It tasted more like a cheese soup than a layered lasagna dish—great on paper, but the execution fell flat. My husband had the chicken parmesan, which he really enjoyed. The portion was huge, so he had leftovers to take home. My mother-in-law went with the strozzapreti, which she wasn’t a fan of, so I gave it a try. It was definitely better than my lasagna, but very heavy on the truffle flavor. I had to doctor it up with lots of black pepper and parmesan, which helped balance it out a bit.
We ended the night with a scoop of chocolate and pistachio gelato, which was a sweet, simple way to close out the meal.
All in all, the ambiance and service were fantastic, and while some of the food was hit or miss for us, I’d definitely come back—especially for the apps, cocktails, and that...
Read moreI visited the Peoria location with some family. We had ordered the chef's board, Italian farm salad, cacio e pepe arancini, and for desert the bombolini or italian donuts.
For the chef's board, the shaved meats, pickled vegetables, olives, bread and jam was delicious. Had to look up what the orange fennel mostarda was and it was the delicious, sweet jam like texture next to the other sauce and soft mozzarella. To me the cubes of aged parmesan were too dry and flavorless but everything else on the board was delicious.
The Italian farm salad was amazing. There was such a variety in this salad not just some greens with a tomato or two. It had shaved salami and another meat with a good portion of cheese and vinaigrette sauce as well as fresh tomatoes, pickled onions, and bread crumbs.
The cacio e pepe arancini was pretty. If you are not sure about what this dish is, it is a breaded ball with cheese and risotto. The person that ordered them loved the pesto sauce that came with them. It was fresh and you could taste the pesto in every bite.
The Bombolini donuts were great. They had a lemon filling inside with a berry compote spread on the plate. The donuts were good and loaded with lots of sugar crystals and powdered sugar on top. It reminded me of a pączki donut.
Pros: the staff was friendly, place was clean and roomy, food was amazing. They even had H.F. Coors plates and cups. If you know the popular company in Tucson you will appreciate the subtle homage to a great Arizona company.
Cons: the staff were given to many tables to run so ordering was a little slow. Right when you enter the door the hostess area is way to close. You have no room for seating and barely any room for standing when waiting for a table. Everyone is bumping into each and it was an awkward set up.
Overall we will be back again and will try new things...
