While the food was what I expected the service was horrible. Our waitress obviously catered to patrons of her own ethnicity (Latino) she checked on us maybe twice during the meal, we watched her visit the table next to us more times than I could count, we finished our meal and she still never came to to clear our table or offer desert or even bring us the check, we tried getting her attention but she ignored us, finally a man who could have been the manager noticed us sitting there looking like something was obviously wrong he walked over and we said we're waiting for the check he apologized and he never returned, so we got up still with a table full of dishes and no check and went to the counter, the waitress still didn't notice us as she was still catering to the other table, the manager who was African American like us started apologizing again. I told him we're feeling pretty neglected, he said he understands and kept apologizing I paid the bill and of course didn't apply a tip. As African Americans we have dealt with this type of discrimination from Whites for centuries and now as the Latino population continues to grow here in L.A. we too often experience the same treatment from them. As we headed home I wondered what could I have done about it, If I take the high road which I did the behavior goes unchecked, if I had raised hell, we then are usually viewed as trouble makers or always angry and always playing the "race card". I guess I'll attempt to contact the owner and hear more apologies other than that I wish there was something I could do that would be more effective. So our night was ruined and I guess the struggle continues. SMH #DENNYS...
Read moreThe food was just okay. The waitress we had was just okay as well. We were always looking for her, she came to check on us every blue moon and the thing is that it really wasn't that busy. What made the situation even worse is that there was a table of guys sitting right next to us and her service for them was extremely better. Her energy was wayyyyyy higher, she checked on them more often and she seemed more happier and was very energetically talkative. So I thought to myself that, OK, she can be a good waitress, just not with us. My first thought was maybe it was the color of my skin, then I thought maybe she knows them.. either way, it shouldn't matter. My friend and I were paying customers and we deserved the same excellence service that those table of guys got.. what made matters worse is that I had a coupon for five dollars off and she wouldn't let me use it because it was on a holiday. She explained that on holidays coupons are prohibited and I told her that's an Important factor to know and you guys should make people aware of that. She told me that it should say it on the coupon and I looked for it on the coupon because maybe I missed it,... and it said it nowhere on the coupon. Even when I tried to show her that it didn't say that on there, her and her manager would not honor the coupon. I always have a bad experience at Dennys. I just went there because it was the only place that was open on Thanksgiving at that time and I really wanted to have some Dinner and spend some time with my friend,.. but I was hoping that maybe this experience would have possibly been great abd better than my other past experiences at Dennys especially since...
Read moreLove to come and get the cookie skillet, went tonight after a very long night with a friend after telling her about it. Was the 2nd night in a row going. We sat down and ordered our food. And the server didn't bring us everything for the meal we got. We asked 3 times before she Finally brought us the rest of our meal. Once we were finished we wanted to get the skillet and it took a very long time to receive the order. And when it did come out it was cold and looked disgusting not like what I order every time I go. She never brought anymore silverware to eat the food with and told us she will be right back with some spoons and then never came back. Started helping other customers. We waited 15 minutes trying to get her attention and she never came back. Never brought our check. So we just left the food and went to the front to pay. We stood up there for at least another 5 minutes with another group of guests before another lady in normal clothes came up to take them to a table. And just walked away and never came back to assist us. Another 5 minutes go by before she comes back up and askes us if we wanted to be seated. We were like "No, we ate, we want to pay." We made her take the skillet off bit never once Apologized or tried to make it right. The whole reason we went was for that skillet and was a huge disappointment when we couldn't even eat what we were craving. Couldn't eat ice cream with our fingers.
For reference. The picture on the left was from that night the picture on the right was from the...
