I've never been big into breakfast foods, but after visiting Scrambler Marie's for the first time, well now I know I've been missing out. It's become a weekend routine, and not one of those kind of routines you trudge through or, at best, feel apathy toward - no, this is a routine I look forward to. While there is usually a wait to be seated on weekends, it's usually a very reasonable amount of time (5 minutes), unless you encounter the church crowd on Sundays. The staff is always exceedingly helpful and polite, even when they're swamped. Then we get to their menu. Now, to be honest I always get the same meal, but I have sampled the plates of those types of eaters who enjoy changing it up (usually the ones seated at my own table [kidding]) and every bit of it is great. I myself stick with the Harvest Benny and potato chunks, which is a plate of pure goodness. They also have seasonal items that always look great, and they change up their coffee offerings every once in a while to include some flavored stuff, iced coffee, etc. If you eat here when the weather is nice you'll have the option to sit on the patio, which is always preferable. Admittedly they could use some new patio tables/chairs, but they work just fine aside from one or two wobbly chairs.
Anyway, I generally don't like tossing out 5 star reviews, but this is one of the rare local exceptions that deserves nothing less. If you're in the market for some breakfast in Perrysburg, I'd recommend you...
Read moreHosted a gender reveal for my boyfriends sister here over the weekend. We "booked" the room about two months ahead of time from 10-1. When we arrived, our party of 25 was set up along the wall and two tables were being utilized for other diners. We were under the impression that the whole room was alotted to us. We didn't have a table for our cake or gifts or anything. We had one waitress for our entire party. Refills were neglected. Our order wasn't taken until almost 11. When our food came out, different servers were running it and yelling out plates. They were not in order. Our waitress did not run one plate. Also, my food was missing and by the time I got it, the first few people who received theirs were already finished as it took over 15 minutes for the entire party to get their meal. The manager never came to check on our party or the service. Everyone food was good so A+ to the kitchen. But our service and accommodations were horrible.
I will not be back nor will I ever recommend the "private room" to anyone...
Read moreVisited the Perrysburg location. My husband had the pancakes/eggs/bacon combo which he enjoyed. I ordered the avocado toast, very disappointed. The avocado was haphazardly spread on the toast, didn’t even cover half of the bread. The avocado spread tasted and looked like the kind you buy premade, very processed tasting and no discernible avocado to be seen. I ordered poached eggs, one was fine the other was not good and overcooked, as you can see in the picture. The picture shows how it came out to me. The potato chunks were ok, they had French fries I with them. Was supposed to be served with a spicy sriracha sauce that was missing and I may have had a couple of goat cheese crumbles. The waitress didn’t come back to us until the end. I was very hungry so I ate one piece but couldn’t eat the other. She asked how everything was so I did tell her and she apologized. I am surprised that some that looked like that was allowed to leave the kitchen. Too many better breakfast options near us to go back...
