My 1st time eating a meal here (lived in Austin 28yrs, and never crossed my mind, always skipped it because the building seemed passe or overdoing it). Nothing special. It's a burger place. It's not rocket science. Unless you're used to McDonalds, nothing special about their food. Mcdonalds is complete garbage, as I always feel sick to my stomach eating there. I had the double with cheese meal. It seemed slightly larger than the size of a cheap double cheese burger you get anywhere else, which is too small. I asked for extra lettuce and tomatoes, and they put a healthy portion in a container on the side. That was nice, but in the burger already would have made it easier, but less quantity. The fries were fine, correctly sized in fact. It's nice that they leave the skin on so you feel like you're eating healthier fries... or maybe they're too lazy to peel the potatoes. The drink was only 3/4 full, and so was everyone elses. It was drive-through, so no refills, and the cups were small (litterally the same size as a water cup I got at Jack in the box the other day). Compared to Whataburger, which is my new favorite (ever since I learned to tell them to sub mayo for mustard about 2yrs ago), the burger was smaller, the fries were different but slightly lessor, the soda was about a third the size (12oz vs 32oz). The service wasn't great. The workers seemed like you were bothering them for placing an order. I'll take whataburger any day over puck-terrys (puck is the size of the burger). I knew I should've just driven a little further.
Conclusion: they cheap out in all the right ways to make it a healthier meal for the same price, without actually being healthier, but they increase profits in so doing. Small burger, small soda, their too lazy to peel potatoes. Buy 2 meals, and now you have enough... too much, in fact, so give the leftovers to your dog. If they make everything about 30% larger, then they might be ok.
Final note: like Mic-Donalds, Puh-Terrys may be following in their footsteps and have menu items like puh-nuggets, puh-chicken, puh-double, puh-flurry, big-puh, puh-fries, puh-crispy... and putting profits over substance.
3 stars overall. For reference: McDonalds is 1 star, Whataburger 4 stars (would be 5stars had they alleviated the pain for 28years of eating a mustard burger and told me every time & reminded me to sub mayo). Wendys 3 stars. Jack in the box 2stars. Yeah, it's equivalent to a Wendys, which is good enough, but this place seems...

Moved to this area recently and drove by several P Terry's (TP). Had to look it up to see what it was. The wife and I decided to try it out.
Walked in and ordered, "Burger combo, please." Young lady asks, "The hamburger combo?" I said well yeah thinking as opposed to what a lamb-burger? Realized later TP calls their chicken sandwich a chicken burger. Why is this? The rest of the industry calls it a chicken sandwich.
Anyway, I saw a lemonaid bouble machine and said I wanted my drink to be lemonade. She asked if I wanted the large combo. I said of course. She picked up a medium cup. I said, "No, I want the large." She said she'll have to charge me for the combo with a drink and an additional large drink if I want the large lemonade. She said the large lemonade is the medium cup. That makes absolutely no sense but whatever.
Walked around the corner and saw....well, a picture is worth a thousand words. The place looked as if it was not cleaned all week. A young lady came out a filled the napkins and cup lids then acted as if she did not see anything else that needed her attention.
Saw a couple emoyees sitting at a table eating and watching me take pictures of the dining area. I thought it was obvious I was taking pictures of the messy mess. They didn't seem to be concerned. My wife and I sat at the only table that didn't have trash and food on it.
I took a sip of the lemonade. It was disgusting. It was more like lemon water with too much lemon and no sweetener. Traded it for an empty cup and settled for a fountain drink.
Got our food. The fry's were soggy and the burger was small, equivalent to a Whataburger Jr. or 1/4 pounder from any other in the industry. I would even venture to say it was less than a 1/4 pounder.
The burger was good but nothing special. My wife said the milk shake was good. The price was consistent with others in the industry but considering much less food made me feel it was over priced.
Overall, extremely messy facilities, very small portions, next to no interactions with employees. All made for a very poor fast...
Read moreWe stopped by this PTerry’s location today for a couple burgers and a shake-of-the-month. We have been to this location in the past and have had great experiences. Today’s experience was quite the exception. We pull up to the drive through and when the person (Christian according to the receipt) came on laughing obviously more interested in what’s going on in the background than our order. I gave him our order. There was a pause and then he said “Can you repeat that” I stated which part. He never answered me. So I repeated our order…two cheeseburgers and two shake-of-the-month. We get to the window and we pay. The girl at the window hands us our order and looks at me like “what” I stated to her we have two shakes. Then I notified her that the order is wrong as we are missing a burger. She walked away and the original person that took our order came to the window. I told him the order is wrong as we are missing a burger. He then charged us for our other burger to which he got wrong as well. Then I had to ask for straws for our shakes. All I can say is I hope this was a fluke as we enjoyed stopping at the PTerry’s location after our triathlon races for a treat. But if the “fun in the background” is more important, than we would rather go elsewhere. PS…we attempted to call for a manager and no one...
