Long winded review ahead:
Just had the weirdest experience at the morning ritual coffee shop. I saw online that they were open til 10 so I was like dope! A new coffee shop I can go chill and read my book at. Looked at their menu online they have vegan options and matcha. Another score. So I put it in the gps and see that itâs right behind Town hill shopping center. Nice and close! Woohoo. So I drive to the address and pull up infront of a bar called âThe Goatâ. Hmmm gps must be wrong. So I drove around the block and back into the parking lot of the bar to see that in the veeeeerrrryyyy bottom corner of the sign for the bar thereâs a sign for the coffee shop. Okay so theyâre in the same building. Cool. So I go inside and thereâs a host stand at the door and the coffee bar on the left. On the right thereâs a restaurant and some empty tables and high tops in the back. So I ask the hostess âif Iâm just here for coffee not for food do i just grab one of the tables in the back?â She says âyeah sit wherever!â
I say thanks and order my matcha and start looking for a table. The hostess comes running up to me and says âsooooooo since weâre busy right now you canât sit at a table.â
What? I just ordered something but I canât sit down? She says âyeah the servers will get confused if you sit at a table.â
Okayyyyy so I tell the barista I guess Iâll take that matcha to go then. Guess Iâm not reading my book here. It was crazy loud in there too so I guess not the greatest reading environment anyway.
So Iâm waiting and waiting and the barista says âoh we donât have to go cups for hot beverages.â A coffee shop that has no coffee cups? Interesting.
So she pours my hot matcha into a plastic cup and then just puts a second cup around it so I donât burn my hand. And I walk out awkwardly after being told I canât sit down.
Weirdest most awkward experience at a coffee shop ever. Unfortunately it's also the best matcha I've like ever had so now I want to go back again but also don't because that experience sucked.
If youâre in pflugerville maybe skip morning ritual. Or the goat. Or whatever itâs called. Iâm still unsure if theyâre the same...
Read moreI was really excited to try this place! We went there for brunch this morning and I was very unimpressed. We were told there was a 20 minute wait, no problem. We ordered some coffees and the staff were reluctant to serve it to us since we were waiting for a table. I explained that Iâm happy to sit outside with my coffee while we wait for a table to be ready. They agreed to take our order. We ordered two lattes and a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was delicious but the coffee was not. I got white chocolate and my daughter got caramel and we didnât know which was which so we tried each others. They tasted the same because you could not taste the flavored syrup whatsoever so we just picked one and tried to drink it. Neither one of us finished ours because it was not good. So while we waited for our table for 4 ti be ready, another party of four came in after us and got sat right away even though we were the only ones on the waitlist at the time and their online system confirmed this. No big deal, we waited the 20 minutes and got a table. We were served water in dirty glasses-one had lipstick on it and the other had a leaf looking thing floating in it. Thatâs okay though because we had our mediocre unflavored lattes. We ordered our food: chicken and waffles, hot chicken bene and The classic. The chicken on the chicken and waffles was a lot spicier than I thought it would be but it wasnât bad. The chicken bene on the other had, was so spicy, my daughter couldnât eat it and she loves spicy food! The classic was ordered with scrambled eggs. My son described them as disgusting. I put them in a to go box so I could eat them later and they were soggy and looked undercooked as I plopped them into the box. I no longer plan on eating them later. He liked the toast and the bacon though so thatâs something. None of us finished our food or drinks. We definitely wonât...
Read moreWhile the aesthetics at Morning Ritual were undeniably gorgeous, my recent visit fell short of expectations in several key areas.
Seating Confusion & Unaccommodating Staff:
Firstly, I was surprised to learn that coffee service was only available for takeout upon arrival. Despite ample available seating, the hostess denied my request to enjoy my coffee inside. This policy seems illogical, especially considering your "Morning Ritual" branding might suggest a focus on enjoying coffee in a relaxing atmosphere.
Food & Beverage Issues:
The food itself was disappointing. The biscuits, a seemingly simple dish, were dense and more akin to chewy bread than light, fluffy biscuits.
The coffee service was also frustratingly slow. Despite a seemingly attentive staff, the wait time for our coffee orders was baffling. Additionally, my food arrived before the coffee, which defeats the purpose of ordering them together.
Multiple Coffee Mishaps:
My friend's experience with their coffee orders compounded the frustration. Their request for a half-sweet coffee resulted in a beverage overflowing with sugar. Upon requesting a remake, the corrected coffee arrived only at the very end of the meal. To top it all off, the replacement for the Spanish mocha was not only wrong again, but inexplicably served in an ice cold despite being a hot beverage.
Overall Impression:
Morning Ritual has the potential to be a delightful spot, but a significant improvement in service and food quality is necessary. The experience felt poorly managed, with basic requests turning into frustrating hurdles. I recommend focusing on staff training to ensure a smooth dining experience and address the inconsistencies with food and beverage preparation.
Based on this visit, I cannot recommend Morning Ritual...
