Iâm writing this review on Cowboyâs Fit because I love this place so much. I used to go to the Goldâs Gym on 130 and Gattis. I went to that gym before the pandemic and after. I liked it at the time for the simple fact that it had âKids Clubâ or a place for me to take my kiddos while I worked out. I work full time and have a husband who has an irregular schedule, so I really relied on the Kids Club. Goldâs Gym ended up closing the Kids Club section after the pandemic and never reopened it. I decided to start looking for other gyms.
I ended up coming across Cowboys Fit and choose them over the other gyms that offered Kids Club because the minimum age for kiddos is 3 months. I had just had a baby, so this was perfect for me. I signed up and got a message from someone named Cameron who stated he was a trainer at Cowboyâs and was attempting to meet with me for a personalized workout as part of my initial sign-up. I agreed and Cameron was able to identify the weak areas I really needed to focus on after having a baby. I wanted to pass out after our first workout and felt embarrassed for being so out of shape, but Cameron was caring and understanding. We set up a workout plan and for a few weeks I was constantly sore. I chose the cheapest and shortest private training package but even after completing my training with Cameron, I could feel the difference in my energy and had true weightloss.
I figured I would just keep up with the workouts Cameron had given me and be accountable for myself, but I ended up finding out that Cameron also offered group workout classes. The group workouts are CrossFit style. The classes are Tuesdayâs and Thursdayâs at 6:00pm. I normally hate going to the gym in the evening because itâs one of the busiest and most crowded times to go. Cameronâs class always has plenty of equipment pulled and reserved for those of us working out so I never have to worry about waiting to get my workout in. I was a little intimidated to join the class because I wasnât sure I had the fitness level to complete it.
I appreciated the fact that Cameron offered modified workouts for people who had injuries or who just plain-old got tired fast. I was able to go at the pace that I felt the most comfortable without feeling like I was slowing anyone down or falling behind. Cameron also has a very watchful eye on form and is great about adjusting form to make sure you donât injure yourself or fatigue muscles prematurely with bad form. His classes are always challenging but fun because Cameron has a laid-back personality with a great sense of humor.
After several months of working out with Cameron, I felt confident enough to take a fitness assessment with my agencyâs fitness team and was able to score in the 90âs which earned me paid time off. I work for an agency where fitness is of huge importance so to be able to score so well at 36 after having a baby was a huge mile marker for me. I will continue to attend Cameronâs classes so that I can continue to work towards a healthy lifestyle. Heâs one of my...

Have driven by Cowboy Fit on many occasions I decided I wanted to look into a membership. I called and spoke to Ryan, who happened to give a brief breakdown of cost, which is amicable to our budget. I dragged my wife along to keep me from impulsively signing up, but to see if this place would be a good fit. The building is expansive. Walked in and was greeted by the front receptionist, which happened to be a trainer. I indicated I already spoke to someone and we just wanted a tour. Ryan was with another client, so he offered to help us. He sat us down to open the price book, but I went ahead and rattled if the pricing Ryan discussed and that we just wanted to check out the place. Place us clean. Locker rooms clean, and lockers are large and allow for padlock use or can use locker with combo. Great selection of machine and free weights, everything branded with Cowboys. My wife observed that the equipment is a little spaced too closely together, but Sunday at 6pm there wasn't alot of folks. We started asking some questions about classes and unfortunately, our trainer wasn't sure, as he indicated he was new. The group room is large, so I'm sure it can accommodate alot of folks. I was a little disappointed in the HITT area, as it is small and compact. They have one sled, and kettle bells, pull up station, bands, heavy bags, are all located in one area, stacked on each other, which would create an issue if a few folks are using the ASTRO turf area for the sled or the two weighted tires for flips. It is just too small. There is a pool, sauna, and hot tub. Pool has a few lanes and looked to be no more than 5 ft deep. Locker rooms are big. There is also an area, which attracted me from the get go which is the massage chairs and Cryochamber, however it's an extra fee. The massage chairs are part of the membership at Planet Fitness, so I was a little turned off by this. Midway, the trainer asked if he could step away, and we were cool with that as we didn't want to have anyone hover over us. We wanted to know about the classes so we stopped at the front as Ryan was still busy and asked the receptionist, who was the actual receptionist. My wife asked about types and times and she indicated she didn't know and handed us the class sheets. So that was a turn-off for us was that we asked two staff members questions about their gym and they...
Read moreKevin is my personal trainer, and I've come so far already with his guidance! I've had various injuries and illness over the past several years, and when I signed up for a gym membership, the staff worked with me to provide a trainer who could help me to work out without pain.
For me, it's difficult to work out consistently without a trainer. Kevin makes my training sessions fun and enjoyable though, we talk and laugh so much that it goes by much quicker than working out on my own.
He first helped me with my stabilizer muscles and balance, and since then I've found it so much easier to do things like walk up the stairs, get off the floor without struggling, and even carry heavy bags without pain. We're now working on overall strengthening, and I'm seeing noticeable improvements each week. I've had several trainers in the past, and Kevin's honestly taken me farther than any other so far. I could never do unassisted squats before, but now I can and I'm honestly amazed.
The gym itself is excellent. I'm so happy to have access to the recovery area (the cryo chamber and compression are my favorites, there's also a water massage bed). This area is so well run, and they are super helpful teaching you how to use everything. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming, and it's so nice to be able to drop your gym bag in whatever locker area is most convenient. There's multiple classes in a studio room near the front of the building, and a basketball court as well. The outside area for working out is so nicely laid out, with plenty of equipment. The pool, hot tub, steam room, and sauna are my favorite of any gym I've been to in the area.
I'm also super happy with the women's changing area. There's a private curtained area for changing if needed, the showers are very well laid out and spacious, and there's multiple counters to use for face/hair care. It's always very clean and well maintained. I'm also super happy with the endless clean hand and body towels available for anyone to use.
Overall, I'm so happy with this gym and grateful to have found it. It's very upscale compared to other gyms I've used. I'll continue seeing Kevin as well, as I can tell having a personal trainer is helping my fitness...
