My husband and I worked closely with Dan when planning our wedding at the 23rd Street Armory. Dan is a dream to work with. Responsive, honest and down to earth. He put together an incredible cocktail hour and a lovely buffet (the mini cheesesteaks stole the show- my guests are STILL talking about them 2 years later). He and his staff are professional, attentive and friendly.
Not only was Dan our caterer, but he also helped orchestrate the big day. He worked tirelessly with the other vendors (we had food trucks as well) to make sure everything ran smoothly. Dan was instrumental in planning the wedding and keeping me sane :)
We held our brunch the morning after at Bonner's Pub. The food was delicious- like eating a home-cooked meal and the drinks were strong. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming.
We enjoyed our wedding experience so much that we recently went back to Bonner's Pub to celebrate our son's dedication. Dan put together a lovely spread. Brunch was delicious. Good beer selection. Great bloody mary's. It was relaxed, unhurried and comfortable. Working with Dan again was like meeting up with an old friend.
Whether you're looking for a caterer to help plan an event or a cozy pub to have a good beer in, I'd highly...
Read moreAfter 3 years, I’d become a regular. Had my favorite staff members, they’d recognize me and make me feel welcomed. We love Cathy and Fairlane (and we hope Cathy gets better ASAP!) but after last night I don’t think I can ever go back.
Recently they’ve switched up some of their staff and this new group is awful. It’s almost like they forget they’re working, taking shots behind the bar, having loud conversations with each other and ignoring the patrons regularly.
Last night, one of the bar patrons kept using racial slurs, I looked to one of the new staff members (later learned his name was Ben) to do something about it. I was told to calm down. (For context, I’m black and the patron was and older white guy saying the n word with a hard r.)
I tried to pull the “really?? Can I talk to my normal bartender please??” And another newish staff member (not sure his name, big guy, looked like a Kelce brother) told me to leave.
This has been my go-to pub since I moved to Philly 3 years ago. The food isn’t great, bathrooms are dirty and the music choices are questionable, but the beer is cheap and the staff were lovely. Cathy and Fairlane, still love you both. Everyone that’s jumped on board the last few months? You’re going to...
Read moreIf you want to work with a good person, come on over to Bonner's and meet Dan. While planning our wedding at 23rd St Armory we met Dan and saw his pub and knew that we wanted him somehow involved in our day. When approached about bringing our guests to his pub after our primary reception Dan couldn't have been more welcoming. He wanted to talk through details and figure out anything he and his staff could do to ensure it was a perfect night for us. His connections with the Armory staff have been so helpful for us in our planning sessions but knowing that we can bounce ideas off of him and rely on him for our late night entertainment has been so perfect for us. I couldn't recommend Dan and Bonner's Irish Pub more to anyone looking for a great spot with a friendly staff, great food and good service. We can't wait for our guests to get through those doors in celebration. Thank you Dan and thank you Bonner's Pub for being one of the best bars in the city. If you're in Center City West - stop in...
