I'll admit the first time I came here I wasn't impressed. I tried walking in and they were not able to accommodate me, which has never happened to me at any nail salon. They were nice about it, but I find scheduling appointments to be stressful and inconvenient. I also noticed the prices were kinda steep- $35 for a gel mani? I was paying $25 before. But I had a gift card, so I scheduled an appointment and I thought this better be the best damn manicure of my life. Otherwise I wouldn't have returned to this salon..
Well it was the best damn manicure of my life! First let's discuss the process- usually when I would get gel other salons would sand my nails down (which are already super thin) to a point where the gel wasn't helping me grow my nails, it made them worse! Here to my surprise they didn't sand them at all, just buffed them. Whaaaaat? They can do that? AWESOME. The woman had me pick several colors and painted them on her own fingernail so I could see which color I really wanted. I'm glad she did because it looked way different and I would have been unhappy with my original choice. She even suggested a color which I ended up getting. I love how much they care about you being satisfied. That is superb customer service.
Next after getting the best gel mani of my life, I also received the best massage while my nails were drying. It was long and she found knots in my shoulder and worked them out. I get a monthly massage that doesn't feel as good! They really know what they're doing. Then she came and put lotion on my hands and massaged those too! I was thoroughly impressed.
Bottom line- it's a little more than the average salon, but 110% worth it. Getting my nails done is no longer a chore, it's an experience I look forward to and I know I will leave this salon feeling relaxed and satisfied with my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been a loyal customer of JcFancy for a year until this past September, where poor treatment on my birthday made me not want to come back.
I had an exact vision for what I wanted my birthday manicure and pedicure to look like: sheer nude almond nails and French pedicure. I went to my regular nail artist and we started on the manicure first. I told her what I wanted and she said another color would be betterā¦I thanked her for the suggestion but said I wanted the color I asked for. She didnāt say anything. When she was shaping my nails I prompted more than once for almond tips, to which she frowned and kept telling me to be careful, theyāre not safe, etc. I stayed quiet as she continued shaping my nails but started to feel increasingly uncomfortable at how I was being treated. When I mentioned I wanted a French pedicure she responded by saying āit doesnāt last, solid color is betterāā¦but that isnāt what I wanted. Itās not what I was paying for! They didnāt have a toe color that matched what I got on my nails, so I walked out completely dissatisfied with both how I was treated and my pedicure.
It wasnāt until I left that I realized she gave me the color she preferred, not what I asked for. When retelling the story to a different nail artist she was shocked that they wouldnāt give me the pedicure and asked if they were unable to paint a straight line (meaning it was not a complicated request).
When I started going to JcFancy they were five stars on google. Not sure what has happened in the past year - is the team overworked? Is it pressure from the economy? - but I hope they can get back to the kind, professional service that made me a once-loyal customer. In the meantime, Iām going...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am very disappointed to have to write this review, because up until today, my experience with this nail salon has been quite positive. In fact, many of my friends exclusively go here.
Today, I came in to take off an existing gel manicure and replace it with a regular, french manicure. The nail tech was highly disappointing. Cut my finger (which I understand can happen), didn't clean under the finger nails unless explicitly asked, wanted to put lotion on my hand when it was full of nail filing dust, etc. When beginning to do the manicure, it became abundantly clear that she did not know how to do a french manicure. That is okay, not all nail techs are good at it. But have some respect for your clientele to not assign them to the one tech that can't do it well or be upfront and say "this nail tech cannot do it." The tech proceeded to ask someone else to step in and finish my manicure. At this point, I was over an hour in on a regular manicure, so I asked to just not do french and finish the manicure with the base coat because I was short on time. I am now home, and everything is scratched off. I dried my hands for over 20mn, none of the nails are solid with the polish. Everything came off. This is not a cheap salon for Philadelphia pricing, AND they are cash only. This is just below the bar for a service. I will not be returning, and I really hope they step it up for...
