My first time at Cafe Viet kitchen, and it wont be my last. Here are my reasons why starting with the food. I ordered the Bún bò Huế, It was a great portion size came out hot and relatively quickly for just 13 dollars!! Tasty as all get out. The owner or gentelmen working the front desk was very kind and charasmatic!
He and I spoke to each other through gestures and broken limited enlgish, I apologized to him as I speak no Vietnamese. He treated me like a guest in his home, Poured me some Ice Jasmine Tea, and helped with reccomendations, they have a lamb version too far out! I thought.
He then put Youtube on the TV screen adjacent my seat and He and I watched VIet eating contests of some sort , I guess and we chated as best we could which I found profoundly freindly, I mentioned my affinity for Bánh xèo! He chuckled and politely corrected my mis pronunciation and called it viet pizza, my order was served in a large bowl with plenty of herbs and bitter mint! One of my favorite herbs. We sat for a while he and I, occasionally he would get up and assist take out orders. The man and his family I assume were gracious hosts. I have not had this experience before outside a friends home. I asked for a container to go and as he saw me strugling to get the soup and noodles etc into it he politely offered to help and deftly manuvered it. Cant be that service.
Lastly Its cash only, and upon leaving I ordered a viet coffee and was thrilled to have not been shorted with excessive Ice, Plus I asked for there to be less condensed milk due to it being to sweet and not dark enough at other places, he was happy to comply, dude that stew was slappin good!

I thought the flavor of this soup was...
