We had a ball at this location on a Friday night. The entire night, our group was unhappy. The staff was extremely demeaning and rude to us. Bar lines were taking 30-45 minutes, the bars ran out of glasses within 2 hours of the event, and by the end of the night had run out of at least vodka, soda, and tonic. The food was mediocre at best, and the sliders were way too rare for a lot of people's taste. The "baked ziti" had no cheese that I could see, and the pasta was all dry in general. When girls' feet began hurting at the end of the night, and they would remove their shoes at the standing cocktail tables (because there weren't even close to enough seats for everyone), they were actually yelled at to put their shoes back on, or to leave. We also were not allowed to have any drinks at all on the dance floor, not even water in a plastic cup.
Last year we had this event at the Curtis Center. We paid far less than what we paid this year, and the event was perfect. The staff was extremely friendly, the food was delicious and there was so many food different options for our price point. The bar offered premium liquor, which included Grey Goose. The Pyramid Club's best liquor for our price point this year (which was far higher than our budget last year) was Svedka and Beefeater.
I would highly recommend that anyone having an event with a large amount of people (400+ for us) seriously reconsider having their event at this location. All of the nastiness from the staff that I personally witnessed was completely unprompted and out of line. It also wasn't geared at drunk people who were falling over, because the lines were too long to have that be much of an issue. The staff gave off a serious sense of entitlement and had their noses up all night. I feel like this was a huge waste of money, and an extreme disappointment for an event that our group really looks forward...
Read moreConsidering Our wedding was here 3 yrs ago, I was ecstatic to dine here last night while Prospecting the Pyramid Club for Memberships. Unfortunately that changed drastically after arriving at 7pm. I was Extremely disappointed!
Our Party of 6 was booked Via Travel Zoo paying $250 deposit for Our Table.
Our waitress was very vague & slow. It took more than 7 mins to receive my cocktail. After being seated at our table, again the waitress took more than 20 mins to assist us in placing food orders. Our appetizers were order by 7:30 & was not received until 8:45. That alone was highly Unacceptable! Our Entree was ordered at the same time of the appetizers, prior to the appetizers arriving we were informed that Not only was the Rib Eye unavailable but we were informed that our waitress gave us the wrong menu to order from. When asked where our waitress was, No one was able to state where. Needless to say, She left work without departing from her table allowing us to know that someone else would be taken over & her shift was done.
The Shift Manager & Her Assistant was Very Passive & totally disregarded to understand how we as the Customers felt regarding the Service or lack thereof. Then she had the Audacity to think we were skipping out on our bill when we were standing at the front desk trying to pay. The Bill even included A Tip that No One at this point was deserving of! Then, we tried to have our Parking validated & that became an issue with the Staff stating "Call Security"!
After last Night, my memories of the Pyramid Club are not some to memorize. There are plenty of Fine Dining Locations in the City Of Philadelphia with Excellent service & A Fantastic View. We will never Recommend nor Return to the Pyramid Club...
Read moreI have frequented this particular commerce club on two separate occasions--both times as a guest. My friend, a long-time member, and I went recently and were turned away. The person who greeted us, Allison Stackhouse, alleged that our attire was not appropriate and we were denied entry. I have no issue with dress codes for events. And if those are the rules then so be it. Had she simply noted that and sent us on our way it would have been fine. It was the way in which Ms. Stachouse looked, spoke, and gestured as she communicated with us that I take issue with. She looked at us with disdain as if we did not belong. As if we had stumbled into the wrong home and up to no good. As if we were trespassers of some sort. This all took place in the first floor lobby.
First, perhaps not believing that my friend was a member, Ms. Stackhouse appeared taken aback when he produced email confirmation on his phone. Next, after denying us entry she proceeded to look us up and down with what seemed like disgust. Before walking away, I told Ms. Stackhouse how her mannerisms might come off and how I felt it was inappropriate to communicate with guests that way; to which she responded "Thank you, but I don't agree."
It is unfortunate that the Pyramid Club has Ms. Stackhouse as one of the first people one must interact with. My single negative experience alone with Ms. Stackhouse has me in no rush to visit Pyramid Club...
