Ohhhhh myyyyy gooodnessss!!!!! AMAZINGGGGG!!!! Not too many vegan/vegetarian options in philly but this place is great. My partner and I go here every weekend as a "cheat meal". I know not every option is the healthiest as some things are fried or packed with fat but it is entirely plant-based which is just what I'm looking for. I would describe this place as a "vegan upscale fast food joint". The sweet potato fries are to die for and the philly steak is my favorite sandwich , it's loaded with deliciousness. I also like the curry tofu wrap and the buffalo ranch sandwich but ask them to make it a wrap. The prices are a little high compared to your regular fast food joint but I believe it's entirely worth it. Their prices are reasonable considering the service they provide to vegan/vegetarians, plus all packing is compostable. I appreciate the extra mile this place goes in terms of environmental sustainability. The staff is nothing but kind and they do their best to serve their customers. The wait can be longer sometimes at peak hours and their isn't much room to eat-in. I just hope they expand bc they are a hit and more room would only bring them...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is great, just went for my first time this past week. I'm not vegan/vegetarian, but I appreciate the lifestyle and see myself heading more in that direction. The employees are friendly (and plentiful in number), the design is nice and the food is great, AND everything (food/utensils, etc) is plant-based
I bit into their Ziggy Burger (definitely recommend getting) and you can hardly tell the difference between that and an actually meat-burger, it's crazy. It's definitely the closest I've ever tasted. Their Philly Cheesesteak was alright, but if I had to make one critique, it would be to order it without the ketchup (not sure who puts ketchup on cheesesteaks of any kind).
Their sweet potato fries are out of this world. I'm not even the biggest sweet-potato person because I find them well.. too sweet. But these were the first sweet-potato fries I've ever loved. They find a way to remove the over-sweetened flavor and keep the saltiness of a French Fry; it's great.
I can't wait to try other menu items, definitely going back. Not a lot of seating room (about 5 2-person tables, so be prepared to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCharging a "covid surcharge" now, not mentioned by the person at the counter or detailed on the list of charges, only a not-too-noticeable sign on the counter with no details as to the amount. This amounts to a restaurant exploiting the COVID pandemic. I understand that COVID has created additional expenses for some restaurants - so increase your prices accordingly just like you would any time expenses increase. Provide an explanation that price increases are due to covid related expenses. Say you're sorry but you have no choice. I'll respect that. But try to slip something like a $4. surcharge by me on a $25. bill, have a manager who's unapologetic and unaccommodating in the least, and you're getting called out on it. And you'll never see me as a customer again. Sweetgreen is around the corner. As are a number of other places serving vegetarian food. They don't pull this kind of garbage. Always thought this place mediocre anyway, I find the food's flavor comes mostly...
