Stopped in for a dinner about an hour before closing time, they seated us very happily in a booth. It’s a BYOB with a beer store right across the way so we bought some brews, which they brought glasses over for and we declined, haha. They kept our waters refilled and had cheerful little chats, the staff was incredibly sweet and politely attentive.
Atmosphere was simple, charming, and clean with rich tasty colors that I feel are nice to eat in. It also had a little decoration up for the holidays which was sweet. I love that they had fresh, not strongly scented flowers on each table.
We ordered this appetizer trio which consisted of 2 steak skewers, two crab rolls, and a crispy duck salad. The crab rolls had a whole stick of crab and, flakey wrap and a flavorful sauce smear on the side. Duck salad was also really nice! Some sweet and savory action with chunks of pineapple and a wonton bowl. Entrees: I got the Pad See Ew with tofu, I wasn’t a huge fan of the fried preparation of the tofu? But that’s actually just my preference, not a reflection of the chef. It came out steaming hot and the noodles were nicely sauced and delicious. They did not skimp on the protein either. Also got the filet mignon, medium. Whew! It was cooked perfectly, the sauce was very nice, added a little salt but it’s nice to have only to add salt than wish there were less. Fries were just fine, you know unless fries are bad? They’re good.
Great service, very satisfying food at I think a fair price. Thank you for the meal and we had a really wonderful night after traveling....
Read moreSTAY AWAY!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! My family and I were a party of four and all of us ended are dining experience being very agitated. Why? We could not figure what we going to do for our next dining experience after having absolutely the best Thai food ever! Where would we go that could match this place? If we continue to come back we will go broke.
I have never eaten with a group where everyone loved every single item that was ordered, from the appetizers, to the main course and finally dessert. There was not one item that was disliked. The lamb, the duck, the salmon and the chicken were so flavorful that you could taste it when you put it in your before you actually took a bite! The sticky rice was fantastic! The flavor of the food was enhanced by the various sauces that came with each dish.
To top it off, all of the drinks (non-acoholic) were delicious and offered a very smart after taste. The desserts were just too good! I would like to write a much longer review but just do not have the words to describe how wonderfully amazing all of the food was. If you decide to come here and dine, I guarantee you that you will be hooked and have a serious urge to return to the restaurant at least once every month so beware, you have...
Read moreAs a regular, my personal recommendation from this list is JJ Thai Cuisine in the charming Rittenhouse area of Philadelphia. Hands-down.
JJ isn’t your ordinary Thai restaurant. French inspired, each dish is skillfully and exquisitely prepared with the finest and freshest ingredients — and a blend of flavors that their talented chefs have perfected for the ultimate taste bud experience. I am blown away by how uniquely flavorful each dish has been. Truly, I’ve loved every single dish I’ve tried.
I ate my first scallops at JJ. Why? Because I knew they’d be cooked and flavored to perfection! 😋👌🏼
The food speaks (rather… tastes) for itself, of course. But on top of the fine-dining Thai dishes, you can enjoy them in a peaceful, romantic, cozy environment. The servers and managers are top-notch — as friendly and welcoming as can be (Thailand is the ‘Land of Smiles’, after all), and on top of your every need. I’m continuously amazed and impressed by how fast, efficient and diligent every staff member has been. If you know Thai culture, you know how much happiness and pride Thai people get from seeing you enjoy their cuisine.
And, they welcome you to enjoy your meal with your favorite bottle(s) of wine. BYOB...
