Took a chance and went to Modify about a year and a half ago and am so happy I did! After trying several local shops I was recommended to see any of the stylists at Modify. When I asked if they’d recommend a specific stylist they said I’d be happy with anyone of them! When booking an appointment Anna was available and I made my appointment. Anna is a fantastic stylist with a great personality and seems to truly love what she does. She spent plenty of time making sure my haircut was exactly what I wanted and washed and styled it for me! If I could give Anna and the Modify team 10 stars I would! They make getting my haircut something I look forward to!
Edit 1/2020 - I’ve been a big advocate/fan of Modify and have referred many customers as well as left great reviews for them over the years. Well, after missing an appointment due to an emergency I went in for my cut and compensated my stylist with an extra $20 tip for missing my appointment since it was not her fault I didn’t make it (2nd appointment I missed since I started going to Modify almost 4 years ago. Which during that time frame I’ve had my stylist cancel and reschedule more appointments! My haircut is typically $30 but had just went up $5 to $35 because my stylist was “promoted”.....). I made an appt for 3 weeks later as usual. The day before my next appt I get a text saying my appt was cancelled. No big deal, I figured my stylist had an issue so I went online and booked another appointment. Well, the day of my appt it gets cancelled again! This time I call and make an appt and yet again the day of my appointment it gets cancelled! I call again and am told that because I missed an appointment they would need a credit card to hold my appointment! I asked how my credit card information would be stored and how it would be used. I was told it would be listed on my account and that any employee with access to the system could access my account info. In this day and age with credit card fraud and identity theft running rampant I have an issue with giving my information to any business to be stored on their system. Not to mention just being offended that I have been a regular customer (every 3 weeks consistently for approximately 4 years!!) for years and had missed two appointments, one due to being hospitalized and one due to an emergency...which I compensated my stylist both times so she did not lose out for something that was my fault (my cut would cost me $30 and I tipped $20 on each cut). I refused to give my credit card info and I reached out to my stylist directly via text expressing my disappointment and to see if she could assist (figuring she would go to bat for me since I felt like after 4 years we had a good rapport and she’d vouch that I wasn’t just some customer who makes a random appointment once in a while) but to my shock and disappointment she just wished me good luck finding a new salon! If I had said or done anything to offend my stylist I wish she would have just told me but the way this was handled was ridiculous. I missed an appt and was allowed to come back in for another cut and tipped her $40 (20 for that day and 20 for the one I missed) and I was then allowed to make my appointment for 3 weeks later while in store. If they needed my CC info shouldn’t they have spoke to me in person and why allow me to come in at all? It’s a shame as I feel like this was a decision made solely by the stylist and not in conjunction with the owner as I’d think the owner may have looked at the big picture and wouldn’t want to lose an advocate of her business. I wish Modify the best of the luck...
Read moreI haven’t gone to a hairdresser in 5 years and I was so insecure with my curly hair, so for my birthday I decided to give salons a chance and I came here for a relaxer and a blowout. My hairdresser was Robert and not only did he do an amazing job on my hair but he was so friendly it felt like my friend was doing my hair! My hair last through the club and crazy nights and the way he relaxed my hair considering how curly and matted it was ( think 3b/3c hair) lasted the whole weekend. He did a light relaxer so that my curls were manageable, I was a little nervous cause I wanted pin straight hair but I trusted him. He was very methodical in how he wanted to go about the processing especially because I have very fine hair. Now my curls are A LOT looser and let me tell you I feel 10x more confident I’m so happy I didn’t go pin straight. My hair doesn’t sit on my head like a hat anymore and he cut it so perfect it looks amazing straight AND curly. I don’t even want to straighten my hair anymore and I don’t have to go in for another touch up for another 3 months!!!! Amazing salon and I would definitely recommend any POC or anyone who feels hopeless about their hair to...
