Masala Kitchen: Kati Rolls & Platters — Restaurant in Philadelphia

We are Indian DJs, that get to travel all over America for Indian and Fusion weddings. We are based in Dallas and when we booked another wedding in the East Coast, we started putting a list of places we wanted to eat in Philly.

Many people told us about Masala Kitchen. We were a bit skeptical to try it since we have had so many great Kati Rolls in NY.

Masala Kitchen was great!

We arrived before they even opened and patiently waited outside for 11am so we could enter the restaurant. The person taking our order was friendly and very helpful. I usually ask a series of questions before I order. He answered all my questions and lead us to the chicken Kati Roll section.

We ordered all 3 of the chicken choices. Masala, Keema, and Tawa. They were all good but if I had to rank them it would be Masala, Tawa and then Keema.

The next time we are in Philly, we will be back...

Horrible! I ordered their MK special chicken over rice. The bowl was full of rice and they added very little chicken. The chicken was shredded, like jerk chicken, and I barely tasted any meat, it was mostly rice. Lettuce was not fresh at all and also very little amount. Everything tasted bland and no flavor at all as they advertise on their menu. The only thing I liked was the pita bread and the white sauce. I ordered this on grubhub and spend 20 dollar on it. Definitely not quality food and definitely not worth the money. I rather get chicken over rice from food truck they give you the right amount of protein with rice and also has flavor to it. I'm not satisfied, very unhappy with the food and do not reccomend anyone to spend money on overly priced food and it's not even...

This restaurant more than exceeded my expectations! Upon entering the cleanliness of the store was apparent and the subtle but tasteful music was providing a calm and enjoyable atmosphere for indulging in what turned out to be a fantastic afternoon meal. Suj D. had a pleasant and agreeable demeanor as the front man for the store. His attention to detail for my order and knowledge of the menu helped to instill confidence in the restaurant as a whole. After receiving my meal I was delighted as my tastebuds jumped in excitement from the flavorful roller coaster which I was provided.
