Michael’s Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Philadelphia

The takeout was quick and very good, and it was easy to order online to pick up. The location is small - this is solely a takeout place, so don't go here expecting to eat inside. I was a little disappointed in prices for what I received, but I was very spoiled living in Fairmount with the Chinese restaurants there. The prices here are a little more expensive, for less food (no soups in their combo platters). I was very surprised that their chicken rice did not also include vegetables, as that seems fairly standard at most places, and also surprised that all of their combo platters come with pork fried rice instead of vegetable. I've ordered from this place over 30 times and only had problem with my order twice.

This time, the soda was flat. I was able to get a ($2.50) refund from Grubhub for the soda. Then, I received a phone call from the restaurant moments later. The owner on the phone is trying to tell me that since the soda arrived at the store earlier today and they’ve been selling that same soda all day long, with no one else complaining, it’s impossible for my soda to be flat.

I guess, I needed to lie to save $2.50 off of 34...

Called to place an order at 7:22pm today, they close 8. We gave him the address which is literally 10 minutes away (not even) and he insisted we live in west Philly and they don’t deliver there. Wouldn’t let us even get a word in to tell him we aren’t AT ALL in west Philly. Kept talking over us.Then as we’re trying to explain this he hangs up on us. What a horrible first impression and we will be sure to tell all we know not to order here. They completely turned away good business for no good...
