Husband, daughter and myself sat down at a table. Waited for waitress to come over (sign said eat in, sit at table, waitress will come). Over five minutes later, a woman came over and gave us napkins/utensils. Didn’t take drink order. A waitress took the food order from table behind us. We waited. Another waitress took drink order from a table of 5 near us. We still waited for a waitress. Meanwhile, I assume owner and family was sitting at a table next to us (in the middle). I assumed owner because one of the women was putting utensils/napkins in a container. Another woman from their table got up and cleaned a table behind them. Waitress comes back with the drinks for table of 5. She walks in our direction and I assumed she was going to take out drink order but she stopped, talked to the young boy who was at the “owners table”, laughed and continued walking by us. I had enough and we got up and walked out. Owner watched us leave and didn’t say anything. Sat at the table for more than 15 minutes and didn’t get service except for napkins/utensils (this is the only reason I gave it a one)...
Read moreLovely quaint little place. I ordered the Western omelette with potatoes and onions. Along with this I got a side of French toast. At the risk of being verbose, I must say this particular breakfast was the shizznit. In fact I enjoyed it to such a degree, that I ordered it for 5 consecutive days, and had to double up on excercise. Now I cannot speak for any of their other dishes since I did not diversify my pallete after enjoying their scrumptious breakfast, but if that is any indication of their standard of excellence, then I say bravo Old city pizza, bravo.
You MUST try their cuisine, especially since I have seen it neccesary, given its deliciousness, to write this unnecessarily long winded review. In short, those mfers can cook. Go there.
PS: they don't have pancakes, but they have them in the menu. For that little sly bit of false advertisement, I reduced my highly coveted 5 star rating by one star. I hope whomever is responsible for this learns...
Read moreStumbled upon this fantastic place. You never know what to expect from pizza in Philadelphia. Most times it's doughy and unseasoned but this place...what can I say. It will be my go to for the duration of the time I'm in Philadelphia. Its crust is thin and crispy, no sagging here. The slices are ENORMOUS. One slice is 2 regular anywhere else. They have a menu that will cater to anyone's preferences. Their spanakopita slice is very generous and tastes wonderful. Felt like I was in Astoria or Greece. The service is so friendly and prompt. And the best part is that it's a mom and pop shop. You can see the mom in the back cooking. Can you get any better than a home cooked meal from an off-the-boat (I'm assuming) mom? And something else, they deliver!!!! Meaning you don't have to go through one of those apps where you pay all those stupid fees. They're old school! They have their own delivery people. I...
