I’m not sure what happened with my haircut from Monique, but it was the complete opposite of what everyone else’s experience (based on their reviews) has been. I came in with hair the length below my breasts, and asked for 2-3 inches off, pointed the specific length I wanted on my own hair, along with layers. Monique took half of my hair, and said that she’d roughly chop some length off first. Well on that first cut, she cut off significantly more than 2-3 inches, if I had to guess it was at least 5 inches. I didn’t know what to say nor did I say anything. The hair was cut and nothing could bring it back. After the cut was done, she began blow drying. I noticed she didn’t give me much layers, so I asked for more. She said “I’ll do it after I dry your hair.” Maybe she knew the cut was much shorter than I asked for, so she never gave me the layers. After I went home, I realized that the cut was uneven. I went to a different salon, who looked at my hair and was shocked by the unevenness as well. All in all, I was very disappointed but especially so given the...
Read moreI recently just experienced the artistic team duo of McAmbs (McKenna & Amber) here and absolutely am in love with the results! I've never colored my hair before, and I naturally have thick, curly, and coarse hair that is hard for me to style on my own. It is obvious that Amber and McKenna took time to discuss the cut and color they were going to do beforehand, keeping my concerns in mind. I felt confident sitting in their chair because they explained their process from start to finish, and that the color would accentuate the cut. I could not be happier with the results. They truly work as a team in all aspects, have a modern and unique approach, make you feel like you are one of their friends not just a client, and leave you feeling like a brand new person when you leave the salon. 10/10 would recommend...

Savannah is that stylist.
While the camera angle didn't capture me straight on (profile on the side where my bangs are) so the viewing audience couldn't see everything Savannah did, I saw and I knew. And the confidence I had, bolstered by the hack she shared, helped me be great on camera.
While I live in NYC, I am in Philly every few months. And I now have a favorite salon and a go-to stylist there.
Thank you, MOKO, and thank...
