Went to this place with my girlfriend because she saw it on tik tok. Because of this, we never actually looked at the google and yelp reviews which was our first mistake…..Place had a nice atmosphere and decent food but that wasn’t enough to cover up the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Me and my girlfriend purposely went during happy hour and sat at a table. EVERY TABLE IN THE BUILDING HAD A HAPPY HOUR MENU ON IT. So me and my girlfriend naturally order a bunch of stuff off the menu including tacos, nachos and guacamole which were all admittedly good. As well as a strawberry margarita pitcher that maybe held 4 total small margaritas advertised on the happy hour menu as a reasonable $15. But the issue began when the check came. Apparently “happy hour only applies to people sitting at the bar”. No where on the happy hour menu that was on our table did it say that. Our waitress (I think purposely) did not notify us of this when we ordered food directly off the happy hour menu. The prices for everything we ordered were all higher especially the margarita pitcher that was $55. Idk about you guys, but no strawberry margarita that you can make with $10 mix at home is worth $55 lol. In total, we were charged about $80 more than expected. So obviously I complained to my waitress. She was very dismissive and stated that it was a miscommunication. When I asked why there were happy hour menus on every table if its only available at the bar, she said she didn’t really know why. BUT IT GETS WORSE. The table next to us had 2 girls who JUST sat down and ordered a margarita pitcher. Me, currently a little heated and feeling bold, walked over and asked if the girls knew how much the pitcher was. The said it was $15. When I told them that they would actually be charged $55 as well as extra for all their food they called the waitress (the same girl I had) over to clarify. The waitress informed the woman of the real prices and the women were obviously VERY upset because apparently they even confirmed The prices with our waitress BEFORE ordering. So this waitress JUST SO HAPPENED to make the same “mistake” twice. Sounds very suspicious. After calmly notifying the manager, she rudely dismissed me which tells me that this bad business and false advertising is common practice in this restaurant. And then after reading the other reviews on yelp and google from people consistently saying that they were charged twice or even straight up robbed through an edited credit card tip, it comes full circle. This place is full of thieves run by a conwoman. I understand it’s difficult to run a business nowadays but misleading your customers will do nothing but get you in more trouble. As a business owner myself, Please do better. Show some self respect and pride in your business. lol...
Read moreMy partner and I took our friends from out of town here before a lovely orchestra concert. I'm not sure if lying is something that happens often on Google reviews or if these good reviews are bots, because there is simply no way on earth we went to the same establishment.
Immediately upon entering, the loudest music in the world was playing. I am not exaggerating in any sense when I say I could not speak to the person RIGHT NEXT TO ME without yelling in their ear. The volume of the what i can only describe as "club music" was more suited to a very loud, very young bar. The entire meal was a comical game of telephone trying to communicate with each other over a relatively small table.
The food was something me and my entire table laughed about for about 5 minutes. After the waitress was thoroughly confused with my friend trying to order queso, or at the very least some sort of cheese, inside of his burrito (quote: "I'm not exactly sure how they would put it..... inside the burrito"), he ordered the enchiladas. Which came as miniature tacos covered in what tasted like an expired tomatillo sauce-- something that actually made my partner throw up in the bathroom immediately after consuming! My burrito and my friend's came COVERED in sauce, with his having a large dollop of guacamole on top..... okay!
As I dig into my saucy burrito with a fork (no knives available), I discover not only was the outside and inside lukewarm, it lacked the seasoning and the variances in ingredient textures, making me believe this was a pre-made, stored, and then (poorly) reheated burrito. Something I have NEVER come across in my entire life lol I genuinely would've preferred the freshness of chipotle over this mess. And then, as I'm dissecting the insides looking for edible bites, lo and behold -- CHEESE! the very thing my poor unfortunate friend wanted, was denied, and ultimately led to him consuming expired food. He was also sick that night.
The bill was 100% overpriced for the quality of food and the atmosphere, and we had one last laugh over my friend footing the $13 sangria drink he ordered during the $6 happy hour timestamp.
I've never considered it possible for someone to make Mexican food taste bad to the point of being inedible. Yes indeed, miracles are being made at Sueño's -- whether they're the type of miracles you wanna endure and subsequently pay through the nose for, I'd steer clear just in case. Starter chips and guac were...
Read moreThank you to the hostesses who were only young girls themselves for helping protect my girlfriend and I when we were followed into sueños. We had just decided to give up on tinsel after waiting in the line and not realizing it was cash only cover. Tinsel is RIGHT next door. We were so close and yet, a man followed us from one restaurant to another all while quite literally growling and grabbing at us. We moved as fast as we possibly could into Sueños, and I pushed her and myself into the hostesses corner. I am never one to intrude in spaces I don’t belong, but I just said “can we stand here, we were followed”, and they must have seen the terrified looks on our faces, as they IMMEDIATELY told us to duck and hide and they placed themselves in front of us. Next thing we knew, there were A LOT of the staff alerted and looking for him and watching him. Only then, did I see him do a lap around the restaurant and leave after he had no luck finding us. The staff not only watched to ensure that he left, but they let us know we were good to move after we were out of each others view. They did not just go “yeah you’re good”, they ensured that not only they protected us, but that we felt safe. Everyone was so concerned and nice and they did in fact make us feel safe, and we immediately felt calmer when we got up to their second level bar area. We grabbed an appetizer and drinks and thanks to the wonderful staff here, were able to safely enjoy the rest of our night. There were a million and one ways that situation could have ended differently and I am just so grateful for these humans who remind me that there really are still good people out there who want to help and...
