Always a good place to go. The food was delicious. Wait time was about 10 minutes. Our waiter was very friendly, cordial and a professional service worker. The bar area is sunken in but well walled in so that children do not wander in. This is a family restaurant. The cuisine in Mexican fare made with the infamous New Mexico Hatch Chili. The heat and spiciness is well rated on the menu. They do take substitution requests and if you ask to put the Chili, sour cream or guacamole on the side, they will honor your request. The bar is fully stocked with domestic and imported beers and liquors. If you order their Margaritas...be prepared, they come in a oversized Margarita glass, but very good. I suggest you order your margarita with one of the Top Shelf Tequilas. It's only a couple dollars more but we'll worth it. The bathrooms are a bit small, but clean. I like that they have a vanity counter and wall length mirror in the ladies bathroom. Helps in freshening up the make up and reapplying the lipstick ladies. There are MANY Mexican art that makes up the decor, makes you feel like your in an actual Cantina from South of the border. My favorite dish is the White Sands Chimichanga. There is very ample seating. Parking is a little tight. When I asked my cousin what she thought of Arriba, she replied "This place is addicting". My sentiments exactly.

We started going to the Arribas on Bell Road in Peoria when my kids were smaller and they loved the cheese crisp. It was so big, the 2 of them could share it. They won't share it now as adults unless you are really nice. They can eat one all by themselves now with a margarita, chips and salsa and they will fight you for the bean dip. I usually go for the spicy stuff like the white sands chimichanga. The green chili is spicy but you won't stop eating it because it's that good. I have to order a lemonade with an extra cup of ice water just in case. The rice and beans made to perfection and authentic food made just right. The atmosphere is always inviting with music and the servers are always cheered up and on point with all the customers. Not to long of a wait even on weekends, but it is very much worth the wait of 25-30 minutes the most. My favorite location is still the one on Camelback Phoenix. Both locations close to shopping and places for dinner and a show. Family friendly, romantic enough for a date night, or just out with friends for drinks at the bar area. You can't go wrong with Latino inspired music and food.

Believe it or not, I have never been to this Mexican restaurant and all my life. I heard about this place for so many years. I figured if a restaurant has been around for this long there's got to be something good about it. The restaurant has an old nostalgic Hispanic vibe to it. It's an older restaurant. When I walked in I noticed some of the neon lights were burned out, and because of how hot it was, there was a fan blowing onto the dining area. They definitely have a thing for parrot birds. Lol! Though it was very limited, we were able to enjoy happy hour appetizers, beers and margaritas. As far as the food from the menu, it was excellent! We ordered mini chimichangas, chips and guacamole and seasonal favorite green chili carne asada burrito. Unfortunately the first batch of guacamole they delivered was was old and turning brown. But they did replace it with a brand new fresh batch. Overall we had a good dinner and a fun time. Just make sure you get everything exactly the way you want it.

Another update: Sunday, July 28th 2024 I'll make this as short as possible.. The waiter took our order. He left the menus on the table so I put them on the edge of the table hanging off about 6 in. That's where they stayed for the next 20 minutes. The manager actually delivered the food.. she asked if there's anything else I wanted and I said yes, I would like more water please. She took my glass away in about three or four minutes later The waiter came with my glass full of water and filled my wife's water at the table with a picture spilling water on the table and walked away. We ate our food and sat there for about 20 minutes as he passed by our table five times and never acknowledged us. I finally got up and got our own to go box boxed everything up, then waited for him to come by. He stood at the table a couple behind us talking to the people for about 3 minutes and I had to wave him down to get the check. He didn't even give me a check He just took the credit card from my hand and left. Then he arrived with the papers for me to sign with my bill. I'm sure you're not surprised, I did not leave a tip. I believe he was pretty upset because we only ordered water and, we split the fajitas which is now $20!!! We used to pay about $10 for the same amount of food and much much much better service when we started going here over 20 years ago. I think I'm finished with this place.

Update: Thursday September 28th 2023. We just had dinner and had to downgrade our experience from a 5 to a 2. My brother and his wife were in town. We haven't seen them in a long time so we thought it'd be nice to go to here and have them experience a nice place. We were a table of four. Our server was Martin. We don't drink soda so we just had water. Also, since it was late and I have to get up in 6 hours, my wife and I split a plate and my brother and his wife split a plate. Martin took the order and when he left I asked him if we could have some more salsa for the chips. 20 minutes later our food showed up and some nice lady brought it to us. I told her Martin didn't bring us our salsa and asked if she could. She brought it. A half an hour passes and we're just about finished and then Martin finally shows up to ask how things are. We were done with our food. And strangely he comes back 2 minutes later and ask us how things are and asked if we needed anything. I said no we'll just take the check. I think since Martin did not get to up sell us drinks and we split a meal, he basically ignored us. I'm not sure why but I gave him a 20% tip. That was a terrible mistake and if I ever see him there again, I will ask to sit somewhere else as he made the experience The same as if I went to del Taco. I think we'll wait a long time before we go back here..

Had a pretty good experience today. We got fajitas and asked that it did not be cooked in oil. a lot of times we go places and we asked him to use butter instead but they still do the oil which is a dietary issue for my wife. Almost everything was perfect food was good service was good place is nice and clean. We used to frequent this place many years ago and gave it a break for a long time. Seems like things are better....

We had to go to the bank and were on our way home when we drove by Arribas. I had the name mixed up with a restaurant in Peoria, Arizona and told the boyfriend to stop there, that is where I wanted to eat. He said if that is what I wanted and turned into the parking lot. This was between 4:30 and 5:00 on a Friday night. There was nobody in front of us, so the hostess showed us right to a table. I didn't notice the other tables as we walked to the other side of the restaurant, I can only assume they were fairly full. The area we were seated at had only 2 other full tables prior to our being seated. The waitress was very prompt in coming to take our drink order. the menu was so large, it took us a while to make up our minds what to order. There were just too many choices. She came back to the table several tines to check on us and was very kind when we asked, again, for a couple more minutes. We waited for a few minutes when she came back out and took our order. I forget the name of the meal I got, and my boyfriend got some kind of a burrito. When the food arrived, the portions were huge. We dug in right away and everything was delicious. The presentation was well above average, as well. She had asked us if we wanted guac and sour cream when we ordered and we both said yes, these were brought in tiny fried tortilla bowls. Very cute. Neither of us was able to finish our meals, so we requested boxes. At the same time, the boyfriend ordered fried ice cream for both of us. It too tasted fabulous. Although, I had already stuffed myself so full trying to finish my meal. Later that evening, the boyfriend said he was hungry. I suggested he eat his leftovers, which he did.. I ordered a margarita, which was quite tasty. He ordered a whyskey and coke, which he said was lacking. I told him to order something else, but he declined. When the bill arrived, I was a little surprised at the total. It did seem a bit pricey to me, but I really hadn't been paying attention when we ordered. Although the taste and quality of the meal were worth it, droppibg $70 on dinner for 2 each only having 1 drink just seems high to me. Because of this alone, I think it is safe to say, we won't be rushing back there again any time soon. If cost were not a consideration, it would be safe to say that would be a new favorite place that we would work into the rotation of places we both liked and could go to on the rare occasion that we went...

5Star service. Our first time here and everything couldn't have been more perfect. From the looks of the giant video billboard outside advertising $5.99 lunch specials we expected average Mexican fare. We got much more.

Not only was the food excellent, the service was equal to the likes of The Pointe.

The Food - Brunch served from 10:30-4:00 I got the South of the Border Ranch Style Eggs with pork chile verde, eggs basted. The taste of the pork was superb. You can tell everything is made fresh. The food didn't come out in 5 minutes either so it's apparent they take their time making everything to order. She had the Breakfast Tostada substituting fajitas veggies for the meat, otherwise served with chorizo. Again, all the ingredients were fresh and tasty.

The Little Things John, our waiter is low-key, extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He knows how to adapt many dishes for the vegetarian and gluten free eaters. We never had to ask for a thing. If we needed an extra napkin, it was on the table before we had to ask. Used creamer and sugar packets were immediately bussed. A new cup of coffee was on the table just as I was finishing my last sip. The manager, Jason, made a nice appearance and welcomed us. After the meal, John spent a little extra time socializing but otherwise he was the invisible waiter who took care of all our needs.

We'll be back and next time we're bringing our son on Sundays for face painting and because kids eat free. ...
