I had one of the best solo lunch experiences here at Céntrico 🤎 I was really craving pozole as I used to have either pozole or menudo every weekend with my dad growing up before he moved back to mexico. I’m so glad I chose Céntrico as my place to satisfy that craving. The menudo was SUPER flavorful. The meat tasted like actual meat and was very fresh and well seasoned. Nothing was overly spicy and I ate every last bit. I ended up asking for a side of corn tortillas and the waiter brought them out fresh as they are made to order. I also had a michelada with it, though in hindsight I would have just had the dos x by itself. The miche was great, but not what I was actually craving. I think I just wanted the beer 😅. The service was great as well. Kind staff. They didn’t look at me odd and were very sweet and accommodating. I ate outside as I was wanting to read and just take time to decompress and it was a shaded front area without any bugs or crazy distractions. I loved it. Every minute of it.

This is a do not miss spot! Everything about this place, including the food, is fantastic! They have many options, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Their outdoor seating is clean and in the shade. It’s a little small, so may not be the right fit for a large group, but check with the staff, they may be able to accommodate. They have gluten free and vegan options as well. I had the chips and salsa with the veggie street tacos. The salsa is a delicious smoked tomato well balanced salsa, not super spicy. If you like spicy, I would suggest the house made habanero salsa which also has a Smokey undertone, is equally delish and on the spicier side. The street tacos were the perfect size and price for lunch. The pictures don’t do them justice. It is quite filling for lunch. I can’t wait to come back someday (was in town for a conference)

This gem in downtown Phoenix is the perfect place for your brunch/lunch! Location is very central and right in front of the light rail track. It’s a laid back environment. A place you can go for a chill date, meet up with family/friends - it is a smaller place and didn’t really look large enough for parties of 5+. The queso is a MUST! The tortillas were fresh, homemade, and had those char marks that made it oh so good. The queso itself has the mile-long cheese pull you only dream about. The chorizo burrito was also good! It was very oily/greasy and leaked the red juices over the tortilla, but that’s what you get when you order chorizo. The service was also great! Joe took care of me and checked in often! He was approachable, friendly, and gave great recommendations.

As a Downtown Phoenix enthusiast I'm always excited to try new spots, especially if they're serving Mexican cuisine. Unfortunately Céntrico leaves much to be desired.

We arrived around 7:30pm and the place was relatively empty. Still it took about 10 minutes to order. We're not these bougie, entitled people, but being ignored for that long at a restaurant is unacceptable. Our waitress finally took our order, doing so from memory. (This worried me as we ordered quite a few items)

While waiting for our food, another server bumped into our table hard enough to cause my girlfriend to spill her drink on the table and herself. He didn't even bother say "oops, sorry" just continued walking as if he didn't feel it.

Finally, our food arrived and of course my girlfriend's order was wrong, confirming my concern when our waitress took our order. In fairness, the owner or manager did acknowledge the error and offered to correct it, but we stuck with the food.

As for the food: The Asada Tacos were a little rough, the Fish Tacos were small bits of battered fish, hardly any to fill the tortilla. The Guacamole lacked salt and the rice, while flavorful, was undercooked.

We walked away from this experience paying $54 not a fortune, but more than we'd like to pay for the level of service. I'm sorry to say we won't...

Odd experience here. Very small menu, few choices, it's a few appetizers, salads and tacos, that's pretty much it. I ordered the tacos and these were by far the smallest tacos I have ever seen, laughingly small, the tortillas are 3 inches in diameter, which makes for exactly three bites to eat one. You get four of these and are left being hungry. I asked if I could get a side of guacamole and was told they don't do that. They make guacamole, but you can't have it as a side. Still being hungry, I ended up ordering the guac with chips and that portion was quite large, more to be shared for two. Way too spicy, too chunky and to sour, unpleasant to eat. Nothing smooth about it. Oh, I also had to ask for a glass for my beer, I don't know why that simple sign of being civilized is denied when you order a Corona. I asked for no lime, just to get a lime squeezed into the bottle. And I had to hail somebody for every step of the ordering, no follow up, served by the bartender who was too busy making drinks. Not recommended at all, go...

5-Star Review for Centrico Cocina Mexicana

If you’re craving authentic, soul-warming Mexican food with heart, Centrico Cocina Mexicana is an absolute must. We had the pleasure of enjoying lunch here with a client we’re supporting through housing and recovery, and it turned into one of the most memorable meals we’ve had in a long time.

The enchiladas were perfection — rich, flavorful, and smothered in just the right amount of cream & sauce. Every bite felt like home. The pozole? Pure magic. Deep, savory broth with tender hominy and meat that melts in your mouth — it was like a warm hug from abuelita.

The service was nothing short of exceptional. The staff catered to our every need with kindness, warmth, and genuine care. The owner, Edson, even came to our table personally and generously covered part of our meal. That kind of compassion doesn’t just feed the body — it feeds the soul.

This place doesn’t just serve food, it serves community. They deserve everyone’s business. We’ll be back — again and again.
