I had a really enjoyable experience at Condesa, but a couple of small issues kept it from being a perfect 5-star visit.
First off, the atmosphere is fantastic. The restaurant has a fresh, inviting decor with plenty of lush greenery, giving it a lively yet relaxed vibe. The mix of plants and modern touches makes it feel like a stylish, cozy escape. Perfect for a casual meal or a fun night out.
The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, checking in at just the right moments without being overbearing. Service was prompt, and our food and drinks arrived in a reasonable time.
The margaritas were a highlight! both the classic and strawberry margaritas were well-balanced, not too sweet, and had just the right amount of tequila. They definitely know how to make a solid cocktail here.
As for the food, most of what we ordered was great. The quesadilla was cheesy and satisfying, the chips & salsa were fresh, and the plantains foster was the perfect way to end the meal. However, I did have a couple of concerns. The nachos had great flavor, but the topping-to-chip ratio was off. There just wasn’t enough meat or beans to balance out all the chips which left some bites feeling incomplete.
My biggest disappointment, though, was the Hamburguesa de la Casa. I was expecting a traditional smash burger with that crispy, seared exterior, but instead, the patties tasted and felt more like pre-made frozen patties. I could be wrong, but compared to other smash burgers I’ve had, this one lacked that fresh, made-to-order texture and flavor. It wasn’t a bad burger, just not what I was expecting given the description.
That said, the service, drinks, and overall experience were still great. The vibrant decor, warm atmosphere, and friendly staff make this a spot worth visiting. If they improved the burger and adjusted the nacho portioning, this place would be an easy 5-star recommendation. I’ll definitely be back, but next time, I’ll probably try something else on the menu instead of the burger. Worth a visit for the great vibe, strong drinks, and...
Read moreI’m visiting Phoenix for a week and wanted to have some good Mexican food. I looked for the highest rated restaurant near our hotel and Condesa came up. It deserves all 5 stars!
The ambiance is very nice! Tons of plants, lots of cool art, a beautiful mural, comfortable seating inside and outside, and nice lighting.
My husband and I came here for lunch. The waitress was wonderful! So energetic, friendly, fun, knowledgeable, attentive… I can’t say enough good things about her. I ordered the elotes to start. Then I ordered the chicken asada taco, the al pastor taco, and the jack fruit taco. The tacos come with homemade corn or flour tortillas. We had corn. My husband ordered the same as me, except he had a shrimp taco instead of the jackfruit. The waitress brought out some chips and 3 different kinds of salsas. The sauces were all FIRE! 🔥 But our favorite was the roasted tomatoes salsa. The elites were pretty good. My favorite taco was the chicken asada. I could’ve ordered three of those. Maybe it was the chips and Elote, but I was too full to eat my jackfruit taco. 🌮 So I took it home. My husband loved all 3 of his tacos. He also ordered a bottle of sparkling water.
Altogether our bill was $48 before tip. I would definitely go back. They had a happy hour starting at 2, and we were leaving at 2, so we missed it. A lot of the cocktails looked really good! I’d love to go back later for...
Read moreWas excited to try this place with my buddies and girlfriend. We sat down and ordered 2 hazy IPAs and 2 margaritas. They checked our ID’s(we’re 27) and took our drink order. 5 minutes after taking our order our waitress came back and asked for the ID’s again and took them into the back for 20 minutes. Weird - but no problem.
When they brought our drinks out, they gave us 1 NA beer(in a can), 1 “hazy IPA” that was literally half full and margaritas that certainly did not have alcohol in them. When we asked about the half full beer, they claimed the keg kicked so they just brought what they had. I’ve had this beer(spellbinder) many times and what they brought us was not a spellbinder, it was an NA beer poured from a can. When I asked about the NA beers, the server actually gaslit us and told us that she brought us what we ordered. When we asked if we could get a shot of tequila to put in the obviously non-alcoholic margaritas, we were told no. They clearly had some issue with our ID’s(again, we’re 27) and tried to pass off non alcoholic drinks as having alcohol, and then gaslit us we took issue. We got up and left so I couldn’t tell you how the food is. This place is mismanaged to a borderline criminal degree. It was the most bizarre experience I’ve ever had at...
