City Tacos — Restaurant in Phoenix

I’ve decided to come back and edit this rating with 4 stars because on a regular day the customer service is great. I’ve gone back two times since cinco de mayo and the food and service was great both times....I’m rating this place two stars because they were very ill prepared for Cinco De Mayo. Everyone knows that tacos are overly sought after on this day! The disorganization was astounding! They were all over the place getting orders out, calling numbers out of order, fulfilling phone orders n delivery orders that were placed after the people who’d already placed their orders in the restaurant. I waited for almost 2 hours to place my order and receive my food. It was very upsetting to watch them fulfill orders that were never even picked up (had to be like 6 of them) However, when I finally did place my order I was notified there would be an approximate wait of 40 minutes (which turned into an hour), I was grateful for them at least trying to be considerate. I was very excited to go here... drove 20 minutes out of the way to get there... I really wanted some good street tacos.... It smelled great outside with the smoke but then we walked inside... it smelled like a sewer... I should have left right then but I tried to convince myself it would be okay ...we could just get it to go.... Got the food to go... One chicken taco, and one carne asada taco, it was terrible. .. I usually eat a lot more than that but because of the sewer smell inside I decided to only buy two things and figured if I liked it I would go back and get more.... There was nothing fresh about any of it, the meat was very fatty and chewy. My wife got a bean tostada that looked like it sat on the shelf for a month. She also got a shredded beef burrito with beans... It smelled terrible and tasted funny... She couldn't even eat it had to throw it in the trash after one bite that she spat out. I am not sure how they got all the good reviews but it was bad... The pic was taken right before it went in the trash.......

Its not the best place I've been too but it could have been worse. The food is tasty but kind on the pricey side. They charge $4 for tacos with little meat. Taco Bell serves more meat than they do and that's says a lot. :( I bought 6 tacos 1 vampira 2 mollas and it came out to $41. The vampira is smaller than the taco btw just with more meat. The meat was good, kind of salty and had quite a few meat fat pieces in it. I hate biting into those fatty pieces so i removed them all and ended up with an even smaller taco. It also took 17 minutes to receive my order and only one person ahead of me. Some of the workers were really nice which made my wait less annoying. Maybe I will give it another chance and try something for lunch instead. Ill keep you posted with...
