We were visiting a family member a few miles north of here, and I noticed this place on Google Maps, so we decided to stop and give it a try on the way back home. Over the past few months, I've had a hard time finding good food that is also gluten-free that isn't basically a salad or "eat this without a bun," so to find an entire cafe that was CSA/NCA certified was definitely intriguing. My wife doesn't have the same food allergy that I do, but she is supportive, so we decided to have lunch here. We both got two different kinds of doughnuts (a chocolate and a sprinkle) and two different sandwiches (a grilled cheese and a breakfast sandwich [eggs, english muffin, sausage, cheese), and were quite impressed with how good it all was. A lot of the gluten-free food that I've had in the past, especially when it comes to breads, is just flavourless and bland, usually dry and crispy from being overcooked. These doughnuts were very fluffy, and even had a springy-ness to them indicative of regular bread, and they were very delicious. The bread for the grilled cheese also had some spring to it, was moist and delicious, and took to being toasted very well while maintaining a warm and soft inside, which was great for a change. The english muffin my wife had sort of resembled more of a hamburger bun than a traditional english muffin, but it was also springy, moist, and delicious as well. We both enjoyed the meal, and the staff was super friendly. We decided to bring home a gravy mix and a brownie mix, but we haven't made either just yet as we've been busy finishing up everything from the holidays. If anyone was a delicious cafe meal and cannot have gluten, I would definitely recommend this place. We're planning on stopping each week we have to visit the family member to pick up a new item and bring it home to try, such as the pizza crusts (because Papa Johns and Dominoes can't make an unburnt gluten-free pizza to save...
Read moreI don't often get gluten-free AND vegan bread, but when I do it's usually crumbly, dry, and terrible! Makes me not miss bread very much. But that all changed when I tried the Herb Loaf from Gluten Free Creations! It is AMAZING. I actually forgot how delicious bread can be. The crust is just the right amount of crispy and flaky and the loaf itself is airy and packed with flavor. Totally worth every penny!
Each time my boyfriend and I go in, we try to sample or buy another item and have never been disappointed. I'm limited to the gluten-free and vegan items, though there are plenty of them to choose from. My favorites so far are the Herb Loaf (if you didn't notice already lol) and the blueberry muffins. Yum! Very much recommend this place. The staff are very helpful and accommodating and the food...
Read moreThis bakery has become my go-to place for gluten-free baked goods. I've purchased gluten-free carrot cake from them for my mom's birthday twice now and both times the cakes have been excellent. Paying attention to the reaction of others as they have enjoyed the cakes I have purchased from this store, many of them particularly keen on carrot cake specifically, all have remarked positively about the cake. Speaking with the staff to place an order beforehand, they have been pleasant to speak with and very accommodating. I was glad to find they even stock gluten-free baked goods in case you don't place an order in advance or want to pick something up on the fly. I will gladly return for more...
