NakedQ BBQ — Restaurant in Phoenix

First time. Searched for lunch near me. Gave it a try. YUM! Price and flavor made it a better choice than the place with the big yellow cup:) and the BBQ girl place, although the staff interaction was much lower key than yellow cup place and little miss. I didnt notice any male staff smile once, even when saying thanks to customers for great feedback. I may have missed it, though, as my attention was quite focused on the food before me!

We shared the daily sandwich special (Grand Canyon) with a side of macaroni and cheese. Added 2 more sides: garlic green beans and potato salad. Did we get dessert? Um, of course! Banana pudding AND peach pie.

The green beans were "a little too crunchy" said my husband -who ate more than half. I love green beans with a little crunch, so I thought they were perfect. Potato salad was surprisingly very good (restaurant potato salad often leaves me disappointed), and the Mac N cheese: spiral pasta N yummy cheese sauce. What else do you want?? Meats were excellent. As noted above, male staff were a little reserved, but the girl at the register was very friendly and made us feel welcome.

Everything was so good that we ordered two 2-meat platters and 2 peach pies (to my surprise, I loved the pie even more than the banana pudding!) to take home for dinner for the fam! Can't wait to try the corn muffins tonight!

Oh- I also loved the little one-at-a-time fork and knife dispenser.

I thought the watermelon tea was fine, not spectacular, but the husband really liked it. He also mixed in a little sweet tea with his, and liked it even more.

We travel quite a bit and hit 2-4 local bbq places each time we go but saw this one driving by towards our way out. We waited the 30 minutes until it opened - at which point there was a group gathered to go in. (Always a good sign)

Normally I don’t order turkey or love chicken but this time I tried smoked turkey 🦃.

Smoked turkey - Soooo good. It was moist and delicious. Definitely recommended.

Pulled pork 🐖- A generous helping of pulled pork. It was moist, medium shredded and definitely a winner. I would venture to say the best pulled pork we’ve tried.

Mac and cheese - I try this dish at every bbq joint we hit. This was creamy with a a nice flavour. It stayed moist but not overdone. You have to try this!

Coleslaw - it was good, would have again. Not too special, but I did notice there was two versions on the menu board. I don’t know which one I had.

Brisket - this simple brisket had a great bark and was the best ever. You need to grab this dish!

Sausage links - so delicious with a little kick!

Potato salad and beans were good but I think we’d stick to the other sides next time!

Review from my seven year olds on the ribs: “The ribs were awesome! I would go back like 10x a week! The sweet sauce was really, really good!” Then added “the pulled piggy 🐷(pulled pork in our family 😉) was amazing!” They give it ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 5/5 from us!”

This is a must stop place. They serve / are open until they are sold out - which I could see happening early....

Awful experience! First, we brought our dog, so we planned on sitting outside. They only have one table outside. We sat there and awaited them to open at 11 a.m. which they promptly did. However, the female employee came outside and informed me that my dog would have to remain outside. Well, duh! So, okay, moved on.... husband ordered our food. When I got my pulled pork it was cold. I mean like they just pulled it out of the fridge, put it in the microwave for about 2 seconds and served it. ICE COLD! The potato salad had absolutely no flavor at all. They might as well have served me a cardboard box. The portions of meat are rather small compared to other BBQ joints I have been to. When we were leaving the same female came outside to inform me that I could not smoke within 20 feet of the bldg. I was gathering my bag and dog. I had not lit a cigarette. I informed her that I was leaving now. (By the way she was keeping tabs on me, one would think she would already know this...) I, also, thanked her for the cold food and that it was absolutely terrible. She stated "I am glad you enjoyed it". Huh? What? So, that explains why the food is cold.... lol. Never ever ever ever will return...
