Review of Rusconiâs American Kitchen
We had heard great things about Rusconiâs American Kitchen from friends, so we decided to make reservations for our wedding anniversary dinner. Rusconiâs did not disappointâour experience was amazing from start to finish.
Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and shown to a nicely secluded table for two, complete with an anniversary card. This personal touch immediately set the tone for a special evening.
Our waiter, Fritz, was an absolute professional. He has a great personality and an impressive knowledge of the menu. Although we had reviewed the menu online at home and thought we knew what we wanted to order, Fritz's detailed presentation of the specials convinced us to change our minds.
I started the evening with a celebratory Meyer Lemon Martini with rosemaryâsimply wow. My husband enjoyed an Aperol spritzer. To our delight, the chef came out with an amuse-bouche of shrimp after learning it was our first visit to Rusconiâs, adding a delightful touch to our dining experience.
For appetizers, Fritz's descriptions were so enticing that we chose the special squash blossoms and a tomato burrata salad with basil sorbet. Both dishes were exceptional. For our main courses, I ordered the osso bucco special, while my husband opted for the short ribs. Both were cooked to perfection and absolutely delectable. We ended our meal with a blueberry cheesecake for dessert, which was the perfect sweet finish to a wonderful meal.
The ambiance and staff at Rusconiâs really make the place welcoming. Prices were extremely reasonable, with cocktails at $15 and appetizers at $14. Main courses ranged from $18 to $38, and the restaurant boasts a wonderful wine list.
To top it all off, we received a phone call the next day thanking us for our visit and expressing the hope that we would return. Such thoughtful follow-up truly reflects their commitment to exceptional customer service.
We will definitely be returning to Rusconiâs American Kitchen. This restaurant made our anniversary celebration unforgettable, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special...
Read moreWhat a surprise! Expected an other mediocre restaurant like I have eaten before in the greater Scottsdale area. But no, this is probably the best Iâve eaten for quite some time! I went there with a friend of mine, celebrating her birthday. As I arrived a few minutes before her, I informed our waiter Fritz accordingly. Fritz was the best waiter I have seen in years. So dedicated, full of humor but still very professional. The card is not as big as some other restaurants offering american cuisine, but it had from everything something. Goose cheese fondue, fish, mussels, lamb, duck, beef or just vegetarian. As swiss we had to try the fondue as a starter. My friend ordered a vegetable plate that was not even so on the card, but with all the fresh veggies they offered as side dishes on all the different menues it was easy to create a pure menue with veggies only. I went for the tenderloin medaillons with mac n cheese. To our surprise the manager brought as an amuse bouche as first time visitors what we very esteemed. The fondue was unique, we expected it a little more fluid but it had a great taste. The bread was european style (not white). Her veggie plate had plenty on it and she described it as very healthy. And my tenderloin medaillons were exactly how I like it. The cheese macaroni had not that yellow/orange stuff that smells like cardboard but a fresh light cheese. Fritz knew also his wines and made some great recommendations. I knew my friend does not go for desserts other than an espresso after the dinner, but according my hint Fritz brought her a small crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e with a candle and two spoons. You have to know, that this kind of sweet is getting served almost in every restaurant especially in the french part of switzerland. It was the best crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e for ages! The invoice was a little more than $90.- which I felt was very reasonable for what we got. And I was more than happy to add a 22% tip. Rusconiâs is now my new favorite when I have guests coming from the old continent, and I hope Fritz will be our server again. He alone is worth the...
Read moreFirst time visit invited by friends on their recommendation - a comfortable, great atmosphere and knowledgeable staff, especially our server Rex, and pretty good food with excellent presentation, what I concur were excellent preparations and ingredients. The atmosphere and dĂ©cor are simple but aesthetically pleasing to both site and sound and comfort. Despite an open, attractive, busy kitchen and a spacious average arranged seating area, the din is agreeable and non-obtrusive to friendly communal table chats. This resto overall is very inviting, and relaxing, and very conducive to the experience of your coming meal. Service is excellent. During our visit the table socialized with a few libations which included a perfectly prepared Grey Goose extra dry and Grey Goose Cosmopolitan Martinis. Kudos Bartender! When the appetizers began to arrive, Chef Rusconiâs cookery abilities began to appear. Our appetizers consisted of my dish of a unique featured rendition of Escargot, it was garlicky, buttery, tender and tasty! The uniqueness and excellent flavor combinations of this dish obscured its slight saltiness. My wife had the mixed field green which were incredibly fresh showing their natural robustness of flavor without overwhelmed dressing! As for my entrĂ©e, I selected a featured offering Scallops, perfectly prepared scallops I might add, but I found the preparation and combination of ingredients to not enhance or inspire the taste expected. A little on the oily end, and a little salty. Overall, we enjoyed the evening, the service, the atmosphere, but found the value to taste was not worth the price of fine dining here. Some of our friends were rapt and others werenât, I was not thoroughly impressed! I will be back though, to try something...
