This 1 star is a direct reflection on what my husband and I witnessed while waiting for our drinks. The barista Madison, clearly was overwhelmed with the drinks she had to make. Although there were several others working, she was the only one making drinks (not sure why, more help = faster drinks), anyways, I witnessed her inappropriately respond/interact with 2 separate customers. The first was a man asking for water after he already ordered. Even though the sign clearly states "order water at cash", he decided to ignore that and ask the barista...regardless it's not really a big deal. The water was taking too long and he had to leave so he politely said to her "I have to go, don't worry about the water, thank you" and smiled. He walked away and I witnessed her roll her eyes at him. My first thought was "wow, did she really just do that over a cup of water??". Next was this older woman wondering where she americano was. Now I will say that this woman was definitely an annoying customer and wouldn't stop asking where her drink was, but how the barista was handling the situation was absolutely uncalled for and she should learn better ways to deal with her frustration. Madison immediately started to raise her voice and was arguing with the customer that one of the americanos she just made was for her. The customer kept stating that she ordered it to go, not in a cup. Madison repeatedly told the customer she was wrong and that the guy who took her order said it was "for here". It hen became escalated and it was the customer and the barista talking and arguing over each other. It was embarrassing to watch. Turns out the barista was actually in the wrong and forgot the drink. Had Madison stoped and said "sorry about that, let me check where your drink is" the whole situation could have been avoided. If I ever went back (which I probably won't because I'm visiting from Canada), I wouldn't feel confident in getting an issue resolved if that's how they handle problems or...
Read moreWorst customer service by “acting” manager Benjamin. I am disappointed in his inability to use discretion with the “rules” of the store regarding “sleeping“. My husband closed his eyes while sitting next to me while I ate and drank food/beverages purchased at the store…. Benjamin proceeded to get my husbands attention and scolded him for sleeping.
I am well aware the rule is in regards to transient occupying the lobby and seeping, as this is a problem in our city. That was not this. A well dressed, paying customer sitting upright at a table next to his wife who was on her computer (not lying on the table, or on the ground, or in a random chair of the store), simply closing his eyes and dozing off.
I am also well aware of policy, and how it may apply to specific settings. There’s also something called discretion and exceptions to policy. It may have been a good time to use such an idea.
Ben may want to spend more time on valuable customer service and environmental conditions like replacing the empty toilet paper discovered in his bathroom.
I have been a customer at this store since it opened and have never received such...
Read moreI'm a Starbucks snob. I grew up with Starbucks at UBC, because the campus was replete with 5 Starbucks cafes (the campus is home to over 15, 000 university students).
However, Kierland Commons is not near a university campus. I adored strolling here from where I lived across the street. I had a townhouse in a luxury, gated community. I lived there while I attended ASU and worked in Kierland Commons. My partner is American. He owns the townhouse. He owns a lot of property across the USA as he is a very successful business man.
This Cafe was the ideal place to purchase Americanos and lunch while shopping at Bebe, J Crew, Chanel, VS and Anthropologie
While Starbucks isn't Italian Espresso, it indisputably was the only coffee I ever drank for 10 years. Undeniably, my tastes have further evolved with age, but my coffee interest remains the same.
Moreover, I always enjoyed perusing the parking lot here. This parking lot featured a myriad of Bentleys, Jaguars, Maseratis, Aston Martins and Rolls Royces.
I'm not a car connoisseur, but you certainly have to be a member of the upper echelons to own...
