As a local guide I don't like leaving bad reviews but I feel honesty is more important to help locals find the right place to eat. My hopes is that the owner of this restaurant will read this and improve. We live in the area and decided to try this restaurant for the first time and was severely disappointed. We ordered a vegetable sushi plate for $10.95 which was supposed to come with a mix veggie roll, avacado, and asparagus roll but it came with cucumber, avacado, asparagus. The portions were really small and sad looking. We told the waitress about the cheap cucumber substitute and she tried to tell the sushi chef but he decided to not honor what was promised in the menu instead stood strong on his substituted cheap cucumber roll. This was just a tiny sushi roll filled with rice and tiny bits of cucumber. Value for money wise, extremely poor. Willingness to deliver as promised on the menu despite the mistake also very poor. We also ordered the Pho with meatballs but the soup broth was really bland and tasteless, this is most definitely not where you want to eat Pho. Very poor quality food overall, very poor value for money. If the owner is reading this, please take my advice. Give and be generous to your customers. Make and give your customers the very best vegetable rolls you have to offer. What do you have to lose? Vegetables are so cheap. You have to be really stingy minded to serve such cheap food for what you charge. You only get one chance to win regulars and it is through regulars that your restaurant will survive and thrive. If you don't deliver better value for money, you won't survive in the food business. Overall the items in the menu were pricey but what was served wasn't anywhere near good enough to be worth paying high dollars for. Won't be coming back unfortunately. Disappointing experience. If this restaurant is going to survive, it needs to consult a successful sushi restaurant and learn how to give customers great value...
Read moreI went in with three friends after we saw a movie next door. We all ordered on separate tabs. My chicken teriyaki was delivered and the chicken was as tough as shoe leather and not edible. When I told the server (Kaitlynn?) she didn't even speak, she just made faces. Finally after asking her again she came back and said she would remake again or I could order something different. We had waited 25 minutes for our food. I didn't want to start eating when my friends would be finished and ready to leave; so I asked if they would just let me eat the vegetables, and not eat the chicken and give me a discount. After she went back and forth with her coworkers she said "yes". So when the bill came all four of us got a "Military" discount of $3, but my cost was not given any other discount. So my small amount of vegetables cost $19? The original amount was $21. Then to make it even more fun they rang up an addition ticket on MY credit card for $86 - what the heck? They then voided the $86, but I cannot even begin to tell you how crazy this actually went down with the inability to carry on a conversation with the server or her coworkers. I do NOT recommend and I will never eat at this place again.
Update Thank you for the invitation. I do NOT live near your place of business. I was in that area only for that evening. Therefore you are unable to "make it up to me"; Unless you would like to Uber me a plate of food to my location. But, you shouldn't have to make it up if your staff and food are up to quality standards. The...
Read moreI’ve been dying to try this place since it opened. I’m all for testing all the new sushi joints to find my place. Finally got around to ordering take out.. I was widely disappointed, I read all the reviews and was expecting spectacular sushi and food. We got a variety of apps, all were good.. I would get them all again. We got two mains, the chicken teriyaki and the Katsu chicken, both dry and lacking seasoning not even salt and pepper. Lastly was the sushi, (for me) which I was so excited for. I got the dragon roll and the spicy tuna roll. The dragon roll was supposed to have eel sauce on it and didn’t. I added cream cheese and tempura crisp ya to the spicy tuna roll. So totaled a whopping $6.99 for 6 pieces of sushi… I also order a side of spicy Mayo and eel sauce, the spicy Mayo was a teaspoon for .50 cents, the eel sauce was a full container and maybe that’s why it wasn’t on my roll but why be charged for it then? I probably won’t be back, Eastern Kitchen is so...
