The sashimi appetizer & Salmon sashimi were truly some of the absolute best cuts of fish I have ever had. The standard rolls (California, Salmon Avacado, Philadelphia & Scallop) were all great as well. We found the Gulf Stream to be too carb heavy (rice pancake) and light on fish and while I found the Wall Street to be a bit oversauced the rest of the group loved it. I was disappointed that the seaweed salad was basically a stack of cucumber loosely shrouded w/seaweed but liked the masago topping. Our server was sweet, but we would have liked to have been offered an extra plate for our edamame shells and had to ask for chopsticks and soy sauce bowls and the process to order a bottle of Malbec was overly complicated though once it arrived the taste and value could not be ignored. Overall the food and politeness of the staff outweigh any of the minor complaints we had and if we return (we do not live nearby otherwise I'd say "when") we would just order all the chef's choice sushi/sashimi options because they really do know what they are doing here and the quality ingredients do not need any dressing up with rolls and extra...

My pic from left to right: New York roll, Crazy Tomo roll (maki), Effingham roll, Hollywood roll

Crazy Tomo was my absolute favorite one, really delicious. Not much to say beyond that, just highly recommend and will order this again.

I really enjoyed the New York roll, to me it had a subtle sweetness to it that went great with a light dip of soy sauce.

Hollywood was great. This was my first time trying any type of cooked/hot sushi, but I enjoyed the cream cheese inside this fried roll, would definitely order this again.

Effingham roll was ok. The pieces were packed with a lot of ingredients then deep fried so they were quite large and had to be eaten in 2 bites. Again, not used to cooked sushi, and never had Jalapeno in sushi. The flavor profile of it really threw me off. If you like cooked sushi and jalapenos I think you'd enjoy this. It is well made, just not my personal preference.

Will be back to try other...

This restaurant always aims to please. I feel they have up'ed their game since the last review i made. Their chefs and sushi chefs are friendly as well as the hostess that greets everyone an gives you your pick up orders. The rice has absolutely improved since my last review so that makes me want to come back for more and more. The sushi chefs are definitely masters of their craft. I've been to many restaurants and i have experience in the hibachi & sushi restaurant industries to know this. I recommend you checking this place out if you're in the rincon area and looking for quality sushi that will make you feel like you're not in the southern...

This little gem of a restaurant made us forget we were in Rincon. It feels like any one of the big city sushi houses that we love. We almost didn't dine here because we weren't sure it was open -- thank goodness we walked in! The atmosphere was very pleasant, the restaurant was very clean, and the waitstaff was very attentive. We had miso, sushi, and a teriyaki plate. All of the food was very fresh and the presentation of the sushi was beautiful. Our food was delicious and we will definitely be eating here again!

I’ve been a fan of sushi for 25 years. I’ve been to every sushi restaurant from surrounding areas of Savannah to Charleston and have even made sushi at home. TOMO is the best. I recommend ordering Salmon roe and putting it on the maki, sushi, or sashimi. I love that their wasabi is hot, unlike other places. The house sake is really good. And I’m a fan of the imported beers like Tsing Tao, Asahi, Kirin, and Sapporo. They also have a nice selection of other entrees but I come for the sushi.
