07/26/21 I went to this location this afternoon as I frequently do to get a veggie sub. I immediately noticed a sign on the case that said they didn’t have some items. I was fine with the vegetables they did have, and I communicated that to the young lady waiting on me. She seemed unsure of herself, but she was kind. When we got to the veggies, I asked for lettuce and tomato. I then noticed that they had guacamole, so I asked her to add that. She turned and asked the manager if she was allowed to add it which I thought was odd. The manager seemed disgruntled and brusquely told the girl that guacamole goes on first. In a friendly tone, I told them both that I didn’t mind if they added it onto the tomatoes. The manager then turned to me, and in the rudest tone imaginable, told me that she was educating her trainee. (Here I’m paraphrasing, but this was the gist.) I was flabbergasted and appalled by her rudeness. Then it hit me that she thought that I was trying to override what she was telling the trainee. That was never my intention. At that point, I felt uncomfortable and no longer wanted the sub, so I said that I wouldn’t be making a purchase and turned to leave. I had picked up a bag of chips while I was waiting in line and before I could set them down she told me to be sure to not leave with the chips. She said this in the rudest tone. Again, I was appalled. I am a public school teacher in this area; I’m not rich, but I certainly wasn’t going to walk out with the chips. I then asked for the owner’s name and phone number. She gave me a number and said that if I called she would handle my complaint. As soon as I left the store, I called and asked for another manager or the owner. At that point, I can honestly say that I have never been treated as rudely by a restaurant worker as this woman treated me. When I asked her to take down my name and number, she gruffly said that it was on the caller ID. I asked her to please say them because I didn’t believe her. She then started repeatedly yelling my first and last name into the phone. Fortunately, my friend was in the car and heard everything this lady yelled. I just couldn’t believe the rudeness. My spouse and I both purchase subs on a regular basis from this store. We will not be in the future unless someone contacts me and makes this right. This so-called manager’s behavior was not just egregious; it was downright abusive. I would advise anyone to avoid this store at all costs.
07/29/21 Update The owner has not followed up with me. I have not received an apology. I have now submitted a complaint to the...
Read moreI just picked up an online order (12/10/2022) from Subway in Rincon. Normally, I have no issue with my order. Today, not so lucky…. Order that came across on their end was not even close to what I entered online. I called the store to discuss this with their “supervisor”… she was undoubtedly the rudest, most offensive and inept person that I have spoken to on the phone… she was condescending and arrogant stating that she “ would not give out any personal information” and that there was “nothing she could do because this was their last day in business”…before, I could even state the reason that I had called for, she made a very long list of excuses of why she wasn’t responsible for my order…I hope that the owner or manager of this store reads this and understands that your employee was the epitome of TERRIBLE customer service and that I will never spend another dollar in that store. My goal of calling was to let them know that there was an issue with the online ordering but instead was spoken to in a completely disrespectful manner. I have never had anyone at that store be rude or abrupt but this “supervisor” completely ruined my desire to support this local business. I suggest a little more customer service training for this person or you are going to lose...
Read moreI have been to this Subway location for many years. I have always had great service until today. I went in to place an order for five sandwiches. There was no one in line in front of me. While placing the order some people came into the store behind me. Although I was placing an order for my family of five , the sandwiches were not complicated. Once I reached the register to pay, the lady said to me, “ For future reference, if you place an order of five sandwiches or more, then you will have to call the order in with 24 hours notice. We consider this a “catering” order.” I then asked her if this was a new policy, because I had always ordered 5 sandwiches in the past. She said, “. This is a new policy since I took over this Subway in June.” As I left the store, I looked over and there was a family of 5 sitting in the store eating. I wonder if she said the same thing to them as they were placing their order to eat in the store. I have shared this story to local friends on FB so they know to avoid this restaurant if they have a family of 5 or larger. I can certainly take my business to Firehouse Subs in Rincon. I am sure they won’t turn my business...
