soooooo a while back I went to this Starbucks for my usual coffee run ....a tall Pike with a venti ice water for the road. I was really in a rush that day since I had a long drive ahead of me. I usually do away with letting my car run as I like to save on gas, however for a faster hop-on hop-off execution this time I let my baby run outside as I got my daily fix. Took my drink, dressed it and poof!! I was back in the car and off to the gas station. Once there I shut the engine off and quickly realized I didn't have my key with me ( I have those cars that does not require the key to start it's sound really cool until something like this happens)...So here I am ...car, coffee, water, a full tank, with no key. After a quick tracing back my steps I call my last location; which happens to be, you guessed right ...!!!Starbucks! After being greeted nicely by Derrika over the phone I asked her for the ultimate employee of the moth, USA Today newsworthy favor, and guess what she agreed to it -YES she agreed to bring me my car key, and even though it was literally less than 2 miles away it not only save my day, but made my day, and was one of most generous thing someone has done for me in a while. So next time you get a drink there say kudos to Derrika she's a true champ, a real genuinely kind person - I asked what could I do for her in return to be simply left baffled with her kind response ...truly amazing. In my book Derricka is the ultimate employee of the year, and positioned for a mega raise, and most certainly to receive major favor in her life. Thank you so much Derrika stay awesome!!!!!! You give all of us hope that there's still an abundance of good...
Read moreThe slowest Starbucks I've ever visited. Been living in this area for 9 months and this is the only stand alone Starbucks in the area. They desperately need either another Starbucks location around here or to over haul the workflow. Every time I come here, no matter the day or time, I'm waiting at least 15 minutes... Even with ordering a few minutes ahead! The excuse is always that they're understaffed but they'll have 7 people behind the counter and they'll have the drive thru closed on top of that. I've worked for Starbucks previously and I've worked in high volume coffee for over 5 years...this isn't an understaffing issue that I can tell, no one behind the counter is moving with any efficiency, there's a lot of wasted movements and back and forth and commentary etc and if anyone asks about a drink I've witnessed a shift lead get an attitude with them only to come back a minute later and say they lost the ticket and they're making it now. No apology for the sass. Also heard an employee comment very loudly to another employee with a dismissive and frankly gross tone "have you ever tried talking to someone that just CAN'T SEEM to understand English??" After a customer hadn't responded to them calling out the drink.... Seriously if there was another location anywhere near here I would never bother coming here again. They will also argue with you if they make your drink wrong. And God forbid you ask them to mix...
Read moreI just wanted to give your barista, Destiny, a shout out!
So, I drive an hour to work and this is the Starbucks right by my work, so I always order Mobile Pick Up on my way. Well, today when I arrived, the fire department had closed down the store while they figured out why the fire alarm was going off. I had already paid for my mobile order, and I wasn't leaving my $7 coffee behind (it's liquid gold). After 30 minutes of waiting for the fire department, Destiny walked out carrying my coffee and I was SHOCKED. Even though the location was still closed, Destiny still made my coffee, as they had my mobile order ticket sitting there, and I couldn't be happier. Social anxiety would have had me sitting there 1hr+ waiting for the coffee because I was not going to speak up. The fire marshal on scene started talking to me and then he went to the staff and told them I had already paid (thank you Mr. Fire Marshal because I sure wasn't going to speak up). It's not Starbucks' fault for a fire alarm, so I didn't mind waiting. But, Destiny saved me time, and a call to corporate to get my money back if I never got my coffee, so I just wanted to say thank you to Destiny, and the whole team there, for helping me get my caffeine after an hour drive
