We were here in Saturday at 6 p.m. No waiting time, surprisingly. The staff was friendly and attentive. The waiting time of order the dishes and get it is 20 minutes 👌 Ours order : 🍹Banana Mai Tai $15 - it served in a cool pineapple glass, it's pleasant notes of sweetness of banana and didn't fell an alcohol. The cocktail is truly exceptional and I recommend trying it. The bartender really came up with a good combination of all the ingredients. 🐟Fish and Chips $20 - battered cod is soft and yammy, the sause has delicious aroma of sesame (dill or something similar), sour cream based)). Fries cooked well. 🐠Fish Tacos $20 - enough sause in it, delightful fish. 🦪6 Oysters on a half $18 - dense and goes well with the sauce.
My rate is 6 from 5. Definitely recommend to visit. Thank you for your great job! 🌺 ChatGPT said: Thanks for sharing your review! Here's a polished and engaging rewrite that keeps your original impressions but elevates the tone and flow, while still sounding natural and personal:
We visited on a Saturday at 6 p.m., and to our surprise — no wait time at all! The staff were friendly, attentive, and really made us feel welcome. Our food arrived in about 20 minutes, which was impressive. 👌
Here’s what we ordered:
🍹Banana Mai Tai – $15 Served in a fun pineapple-shaped glass, this cocktail was a highlight! It had a pleasant banana sweetness without a strong alcohol taste — smooth, balanced, and super refreshing. You can tell the bartender put thought into the flavor combo. Highly recommend giving this one a try!
🐟 Fish & Chips – $20 The battered cod was tender and delicious, with a light, crispy coating. The accompanying sauce had a creamy sour cream base with notes of sesame or dill — really flavorful. Fries were nicely cooked, too. A solid choice.
🐠 Fish Tacos – $20 These were great — generous on the sauce, and the fish was flavorful and cooked just right. Simple, but satisfying.
🦪 6 Oysters on the Half Shell – $18 Fresh, dense texture, and paired well with the accompanying sauce. If you're into oysters, these won’t disappoint.
Overall Rating: 6 out of 5 ⭐️ Yes, six! We absolutely recommend checking this place out. Great service, quick turnaround, and delicious food & drinks.

LONG REVIEW - This was our first time visiting Ada's Fish House. We had heard great reviews from friends and family and decided to go there for our anniversary. It was a beautiful, sunny, non-windy day, so we ate outside in the covered side patio. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly from the hostess, to our waitress, Rhonda, to the busboy Bodine (think that was his name).
The vibe is very casual. I noticed a sign that I thought said something like "tank tops and and flip flops NOT welcomed" and I said "Oops, I'm wearing flip flops." The host seating us said "No, tank tops and flip ARE welcomed." My kind of place.
For cocktails, my husband had an oyster shooter and the Ada House Bloody Mary. I had the Back Bay Champagne Cocktail with Tito's, St. Germaine, lemon, and champagne. For appetizers, my husband and I shared 6 oysters and a roasted artichoke. My husband said the oysters were very flavorful with a chimichurri sauce.
For entrees, my husband had the scallops and I had the Alaskan Halibut Special . Both seemed to be topped with a really nice light beurre blanc. These people know how to cook fish. Growing up on the Central Coast and with a father who used to fish. I know what a great halibut should taste like. A lot of times restaurants overcook fish. Not the case here - moist, flaky, great flavor with the sauce. Fish and scallops were both accompanied by a tasty au gratin and garlic green beans.
The portion sizes are very, very generous. Both my husband and I did not finish the potatoes and green beans because we wanted to have dessert. My husband had strawberry shortcake and I had the warm bread pudding with ice cream. Yum!
Great selection of quality wines. We had a bottle of the Morgan Albarnino. Great for a warm summer evening.
Lastly, Rhonda, our waitress was fun and attentive and made us feel like we were regulars. We will definitely be back!...
Read moreThere are a lot of eateries serving fish and chips, clam chowder, and all other assortments of seafood that most tourists and visitors would want to try, but this spot is definitely a must try. We ordered their clam chowder, steamed clams, seafood pasta, and the halibut (special menu). The clam chowder was rich in flavor and full of clams, and goes well with the free mini sourdough breads they serve, freshly baked and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. I would give the chowder an 8/10. The steamed clams however was amazing. You can tell they generously cooked them with white wine as every bite and all the juices were so delicious and full of the wine aroma and flavor. The halibut was good and tasty too but I would have liked it to be a little less well done. The most amazing was the seafood pasta. The tangy and creamy flavor from the tomato base sauce mixed with generous portions of seafood (scallops, clams, mussels, cod, salmon) that were not overcooked made it a dish I would definitely come back and re order over and over again!
Because we had such a great experience we came back again the next day for lunch, this time getting their famous fish and chips and also the lobster roll. The chips were good but not wow. However, the fried fish were cooked to perfection. The batter was so thin with a soft crunchy texture that I had to cut it carefully so that it doesn't fall apart from the flaky cod inside the batter. However because it's so thin you don't feel too heavy from greasy thick batter that is often found in other fish and chips restaurants. I would say this is one of the best fried cod fish I've had in California. The best ones I've had were in London UK but this one comes pretty close, so I highly...
