Great little tap room a block away from the touristy strip of downtown Pismo.
Service: Stellar and friendly staff. Very knowledgeable about the beers that they're serving and they won't leave your glass empty for long before getting a refill.
Beers: Well, this is why you're here, right? The beers are unique and inviting. They're all fairly clean and crisp. You won't find any super strong bold beers or anything overly bitter. Nice big frothy head on all of the beers. I'd recommend you to try the 6 beer sampler and pick out ones you think you'd enjoy.
I've reviewed each beer below from the least liked to my favorites.
Bootlegger Blonde: Very light and drinkable. Around 5% ABV and very low in bitterness. If you're an 805 drinker or are new to craft beers, you might want to start here.
Pismo Pale Ale: Golden with a slight amber tint. Not much to say about this beer besides I could sure as hell kick back with a few cold ones on the beach. No strong aromas or flavors coming from this one. Your basic Pale Ale.
IPA: I'm not an IPA guy for the most part. Super hoppiness and a bitter dry aftertaste are not what I'm looking for in a beer. Well, this IPA is satisfying. Very balanced and on the low end scale of bitterness for an IPA. You won't get any aftertaste with this, it's all floral going in, with a slight pine and clove taste up front.
Orange: This is a unique beer. The best way to describe it would be an orange soda with low carbonation. Orange soda? Yeah, this doesn't even taste like a beer, but it's damn good and if you have friends who aren't into beer, this is the one to get 'em.
Roadster red: Third favorite. Low carbonation with a medium mouthfeel. You get hints of cherries and other fruity flavors with this. Extremely refreshing, beautiful amber color and an impressive head.
Stout: Second favorite. A big heavy roasted coffee flavored and creamy stout. Medium/medium heavy mouth feel. You'll get a very defined smokiness while drinking this one. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water!
Red IPA: My personal favorite beer there. It's about as complex as it gets. Nice maltiness, medium to medium/heavy mouthfeel and superb aftertaste. You'll get hints of bourbon and a very bready taste in this one. Very distinctive flavors, it's a beer to sip and enjoy.
I didn't get to try the Bolina Brown as they were out of it, but I'm sure it's equally as good as the...
Read moreWent there yesterday, to begin it wasn't a very welcoming vibe and it only got worse when I'm assuming the owner (an older woman) came out. You could feel the unpleasant vibes between the older woman and the young worker it was uncomfortable especially with the things they were talking about openly in front of customers, the older Lady just took our money for the tab then disappeared again. We ordered a beer tasting sample tray and I'm almost 90% sure the 1st beer we tasted was something along the lines of a Miller light or bud light...and all the other beers were gross so gross that I didn't even finish the beers (which was 2oz each) if I had to choose the most drinkable beer it was the red ale one. Also they gave me a mix of plastic cups and glasses for the beers which isn't a big deal but I'm paying for a beer tasting experience so that was a little ghetto. Save your money and go to another place. I didn't order and food here but you'd have to be brave to order food from this place especially after the experience of just...
Read moreWent to Pismo for the day from Fresno. Usually we go to Hoagies right next door but we had our Husky with us and there were alot of people in line . We looked over and noticed this place was empty and no one standing in line plus they allowed “we’ll behaved dogs on leash” in their patio. What a disappointing experience 🤦🏻♂️ . Fish tacos tasted like over salted sushi and the flavor was horrible. My niece ordered just a plain Nachos with cheese, they got the order wrong and added all the rest of the stuff on it. I ordered a clam chowder bowl and was disappointed because they didn’t have it in a bread bowl. My daughter ordered the medium chowder, it was a tiny sampler size. No refills on drinks and they don’t serve ice in drinks. The waitress was very friendly but they took forever bringing out our orders. All in all the worst experience in dining I’ve had . We waited till later that day and went back to Hoagies and ordered their great tasting fish and fries . That...
