it's a shame that a quality coffee shop as such has to be ruined by some of the staff working here. I'll preface this by saying the Ube latte is spectacular, and my interactions with the owner and most of the staff members have been nothing short of professional and pleasant. However, one of the baristas here is very rude, and it seems to be the opinion of most of the reviewers here leaving poor reviews. He is bald with a lot of tattoos, if that is description enough. Learn some manners. I've worked food service before, and never in my life have I thought it appropriate to yell at customers to get out and stand over them the moment the store closes. Politely ask them to leave, and tell them to come again when the store reopens the next day. This is common sense, if you want to keep loyal customers coming back. Not only that, learn to speak to customers the right way. "I cant do that." Or "what do you want." are not appropriate ways to talk to customers. Above all of that, I was charged for a large latte after ordering a small latte multiple times by this barista. There are better cafes in pittsburgh, and this place would be improved greatly with some better customer service training or letting go of...
Read moreI have enjoyed visiting this coffee shop in the past, and the ambiance and location are undeniably pleasant. However, my recent experience left much to be desired. When I asked if it was possible to make a half-caf beverage, the barista responded flatly with a simple “no,” delivered in a tone that felt dismissive and lacking any effort to assist with my request. This abruptness set an uncomfortable tone for the interaction.
When I followed up with a general question about their espresso sizes, the barista seemed frustrated, misinterpreting my inquiry as an attempt to alter my original order, even though that wasn’t the case. His responses felt curt and almost contemptuous, as if any further clarification was an inconvenience.
Finally, I asked if it was possible to pour half a shot of espresso in my drink, hoping to find a simple solution. Again, the response was brusque, with little regard for customer service. At this point, I felt unwelcome and decided to leave without ordering.
While the coffee here may be good, this particular interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and undervalued as a customer. I hope this feedback encourages better communication and service...
Read moreI had an eye doctor's appointment next door, and had my pupils dilated, just as I was trying to get an Uber, my phone died, I tried to call my girl-friend but her phone was on airplane mode. But the doctor's office was closing, so I had to get out and stumbled to the coffee shop. I asked the patrons there, but no one had a USB-C connector, neither was the barista. But the Barista was so kind to let me use his phone, so I called my girl-friend again, and waited there chatting about my misfortune and my reliance on technologies. The barista even downloaded the Uber app for me to use, but too bad there was a 2-step verification process I couldn't complete without my phone. The barista poured me a coffee, which was a very decent one, and kept me company, until my girl-friend called back to order me an Uber. The nicest thing was the coffee was on the house as he said, "you are in trouble, so it is on the house". Such a nice staff!!! Will...
