Took my fiance here for a birthday dinner before a show at heinz hall. Service and atmosphere was fine. Ordered the filet to be cooked pink all the way through. When our food finally arrived her scallops were cooked as expected but she said the sauce was extra salty. My steak was so over cooked that there wasn't any pink in it. Even though I hate wasting food I asked for a new steak. My fiance had finished eating her meal and I still did not receive my steak. I was about to just cancel my order when the manager came and dropped my steak at the table and said with a slight attitude "sorry it wasn't cooked to your liking" and walked away. It wasn't my fault that it wasn't cooked to my liking, I requested how I wanted it cooked and it wasn't cooked remotely close to being right. He also did not wait for me to cut into the new steak to see if this one was cooked correctly. Which it wasn't, still overcooked but more to the medium well side, definitely not pink all the way through. The plate was also completely different like I ordered a different meal. Potatoes were different, and did not have as nice of a presentation as the first plate did. I had two bites and told them to box it up. I felt bad because this was supposed to be a birthday dinner, and it did not live up to expectations. This was a one...
Read moreGluten and soy-free diner here. Last night, my stepdaughter and I had dinner reservations before the Bills/Steelers preseason football game. I advised the restaurant via OpenTable of my dietary restrictions. Thus, both the host and our server, Autumn, were aware, and each advised the kitchen. Given such good communication, I ordered the Whiskey Pickled & Roasted Beet Salad with Goat Cheese as an appetizer. Since the goat cheese was fried, Autumn recommended adding crumbled goat cheese instead. In regards to their house salad dressing, I asked her to double-check the ingredients to make sure that it did not contain soy. Unfortunately, it did, so olive oil was a fine substitute. For my main entree, I selected the Half Roasted Mesquite Chicken, which is one of their normal gluten-free choices. It is served with sautéed spinach, asparagus, and smashed red skins. The chicken was moist, and each of the vegetables was delicious. My stepdaughter thoroughly enjoyed her French Onion Soup and Salmon Caesar Salad. Thank you once again, Autumn, for your attention to detail, and we look forward to dining with you again the next time we...
Read moreLocated in the Renaissance hotel on Sixth, I have eaten here a few times and have each time had a pleasant experience. Booked a rez through Open Table and was sat immediately even though we were early. We got the pork belly quesadilla to start and it was delectable. The meat was tender and paired perfectly with the pepper Jack cheese and green aioli on top. You’ve got to get this if you are going. My boo got the fish and chips and said it was good but parts of the fish on the edges were too dark and crispy. I didn’t see a problem with this bc it seemed like an extra crunch but typical midwesterner that he is told me this was a no go. I got the butcher cut filet which was a nice steak if not a little too medium vs the medium rare I requested. The smashed pots were yummy but the broccolini was plain and under seasoned. Service was great and very attentive even though they were short staffed. The host was very warm and helpful....
