Cappy's Cafe — Restaurant in Pittsburgh

Respectfully as a former bartender I was appalled at the behavior of the bartender on a Friday night. I am personally someone who has been told I am too nice and sweet and forgiving, but when I came in with some friends to do karaoke and hangout, the bartender was immediately rude from the start. Rolled his eyes when we approached the counter, probably because we are girls in our mid 20s, was snarky when we ordered, did not ask for an open/closed tab (after I asked him to close it) and left it open and got irritated when I again, asked for it to be closed. He made it seem like a major inconvenience when he wasn’t even busy. Everything was said with attitude and eye rolls and he slammed everything down on the counter when giving it to us. I just wanted to enjoy a fun night after the Pirates game with my friends and he quite literally ruined my mood for the entire night. Again, as a former food service employee as a waitress and bartender I cannot believe the way my friends and I were treated. I understand if you are having a bad night but the way he was so friendly to everyone else at the bar shocked me. Even my one friend is a regular here and was the major recipient of this behavior. April 15 2023, was the worst day of my life, I went to Cappys. If I could rate this 0 stars I would, but i’ll settle for 1. First, I walked into a carpeted room. It was a bit off putting, but I let it roll off me. I asked for some fries and to throw in some chicken.The fries were a bit freezer burned but not too bad overall. Then we decided to dive into the chicken to experience the culinary expertise that they claim to behold. IT WAS RAW. I think I heard it cluck. If it is wasn’t for my observation skills, I would have eaten alive. I could have been admitted to the hospital with a case of salmonella. When we politely brought up our concern our incompetent waitress said “Oh! Sorry!” in the most insincere tone I have ever heard. No compensation was provided and I still had to pay my bill. We thought that was bad but nothing could prepare us for what we witnessed next. (Keep in mind, our waitress was wearing sandals) She b-lined into the alley way and used the pitcher she served us with to pour water on her sweaty feet. The girl with a giraffe tattoo made the experience difficult. She loved to claim space of the bar that wasn’t used and to let everyone know that she worked there. Rob was an amazing at bartending. Quick and precise. However the off duty worker with a giraffe tattoo… was extremely unprofessional and rude.
