You get what you pay for at Little Nippers: Cheap food for the masses.
What are cheap ingredients? Dough and Cheese.
I spent $33 ($27+$1delivery+$5 tip) for a 14 inch pizza, claimed to be "deep dish", and I requested chicken, mushrooms, and spinach toppings.
Although the toppings were acceptable, the dough was pretty thick, as was the 1/2" of cheese. However, the tomato sauce was BARELY there. This is what makes Little Nipper's II just another pizza place, making just another pizza, just like the rest. This is not a real deep dish.
In my experience, a real deep dish pizza should be an investment in health. You know how people call a pizza a "pie"? That's what a deep dish should be: A tomato PIE, with a solid LAYER of tomato paste/sauce, mixed with basil, maybe some garlic, etc, on a shell of crust. One slice of a real deep dish pizza will satisfy a hungry person. It should feel healthy.
Maybe someday, I'll find a place in Pittsburgh that makes a real deep dish pizza. When I do, I'll expect it to require an hour or more to cook, and I'll expect to pay $50.
Little Nipper's II "deep dish" pizza is just a "pizza joint pizza". It is made quickly, with inexpensive ingredients, and delivered within an hour. It is cheap food, not bad for the price, made for the masses. But it is not deep dish. It's just...
Read moreliterally the worst experience that totally ruined my day. I was minding my own business and got told by an employee that I was working for a company that is killing people (because he saw a movie one time and got the name of the company wrong). He then proceeded to tell me that I don't care about anything except my pretty clothes and how Indians are still dying from the actions of big corporations. He hoped that I deserve a life of misery and that my great grandmother and grandmother look down on my actions. I'm not sure why a white man was yelling at a woman of color about her actions. I'm not sure why he thought that it was justified to judge my appearance (he thought i only cared about my pretty clothes) and my work and think it was okay to say everything he did. The most frustrating part of the whole thing was how none of the other employees saw fit to react and/or intervene through this whole thing. I am not coming back ever. I feel upset that I gave my money for this food. This was one of the most awful things that someone has ever said to me and I hope no one has to go...
Read moreFirst time ordering gluten free pizza for delivery from anywhere. I was pleasantly surprised and they are obviously pretty good about cross contamination with wheat because I didn't notice any reaction! Big brownie points there. They were very busy the night we ordered so the black olives I ordered on my pizza ended up being onions instead. I happen to like onions, so I ate it any way but I emailed the store to let them know about the mistake. The manager emailed me back within minutes to apologize and offered me a topping credit. Outstanding! The crust was delicious and the sauce (which I'm kind of picky about) was perfect. I had anchovies on the pizza as well; great anchovies, good size and not covered in giant bones like with other pizza places I've tried.
My husband had wings (boy did they smell good!) and he was very pleased; they were light on grease and he said they tasted great.
Over all, loving this place so far! Ordered...
