I'm giving 3 stars only because the food there is always great. But the service at this location was 1 star, horrible on the afternoon of Friday, 9/6/24. We went in around noonish and stood by the hostess stand, which said "please wait here to be seated." We stood there a good 5-10 mins while various servers walked past and around us without even greeting or acknowledging us. 2 other people had come in by that point, one took her takeout bag from the stand and was waiting to pay, but nobody was acknowledging her either. When one of the female servers finally greeted us, it was "did you sign in?" Huh? Sign in? The hostess stand said "wait here to be seated." Apparently there's a window desk with a sign-in sheet now? I thought it was weird but kept quiet and signed in, while the guy waiting behind us said loudly "super weird." Yes. It was super weird. Never have had to sign-in on a clipboard at a restaurant. Such a bad look, and for the servers to condescend to waiting guests by implying they should know to sign in before being helped. I've been going there for years and never saw that before. It was not even busy so I don't know what the fuss was about. Meanwhile, the lady with the takeout was tired of waiting and just nonchalantly walked out. We didn't stop her because we didn't blame her by that point. The male server took the blame but really it was all the servers' faults, they all ignored everyone in the waiting area with no acknowledgement for a solid 10+ mins. Same with the people who arrived after we had been seated. If you're not going to acknowledge people who are there waiting, what's the point. Do your job. Don't be rude. You're making Pamela's name look bad. Oh also the music was a...

Let me start off by saying everyone raves about this place. I wanted to check it out with my family. We arrived with a line out the door. The entry way was blocked with customers waiting. The stairwell was blocked as well. We waited over 30 minutes for a table. It started to rain and everyone piled into the small entryway of the restaurant. It was jammed. There were customers arriving to pick up to go orders which added to the chaos. They don't use any sort of notification system to let you know your table is ready. We were seated and I had to use the restroom. I was frustrated the restrooms are located on the second floor. I saw no elevator. Customers were laying on the steps and blocking the stairway. I had to climb over people to get to the bathroom. I was praying there would not be an emergency as it would be mass chaos trying to exit this place from the second floor. I ordered the crepe style pancakes and took two bites; I was not a fan. My bacon had an overpowering smoked flavor, I didn't like it. The potatoes were fabulous! Definately recommend them. My family thought the food was basic, not worth the wait or price. The waitress was super kind and did an excellent job. The score is not a reflection of her or her service. Perhaps ADA, American with Disabilities, laws/guidelines do not apply to Walnut Street as i have seen multiple stores who don't follow ADA laws. No one with a wheelchair would be able to enter as they would block the entrance. Nor could they use the restrooms. I would like to...

I would give zero stars if I could. My family and I came here to enjoy breakfast but were met with disrespect and poor customer service. My mother needed a menu, and instead of handing us one or getting our server, another waitress named Lori said it wasn’t her job to get us an additional menu. She told us that if we wanted another menu, we’d need to call over our waitress (who was in the kitchen grabbing orders) or look at someone else’s. Not only did she speak in a dismissive tone, but she also waved her hand as if she were swatting a fly from her face.

We had a party of eight and were told that the staff would clean off a larger table so we could all sit together. Instead, we were placed at three separate tables, with my cousin being seated alone at a single table in the back corner. Meanwhile, the larger table was given to a family who arrived after us. My dad and I ended up leaving to eat elsewhere because they refused to seat all of us together, and there were no other tables available.

This was an absolute display of incompetence, and what should’ve been a peaceful morning turned into a nightmare. We will not...

I decided to give this diner a try out of sheer curiosity and the goal to introduce my family to the American brunch culture. Didn’t expect this to be a popular place—when I stepped in, the restaurant was packed with long waiting lines. Remember to put your name down on the waiting list! We got a fan’s favorite scramble egg with cream cheese and home’s special hotcakes with turkey patty sausage. The scramble egg was not our favorite, but the hotcakes were worth trying! Huge portion, fresh and hot pancakes with moist and savory sausage. I thought having butter on top of the cakes could be a little greasy after few bites, so next time I’d just put it aside. Very interesting place to have breakfast/lunch with family and friends.

My 1st time here & my husband came 30 years ago. There was a queue of a dozen people before 8am opening. We were impressed with the delicious food, generous portions, great value for value & prompt service. Our waitress Christine was professional & attentive. Our food came out hot 🔥 within 10 min from ordering. Charli posed for a 📸 as I 💚 her tshirt. I gave verbal feedback to Melissa that we felt Pamela's Diner was a well oiled machine - efficient cooperation between front of house (servers) & back of house (cooks). We love supporting local businesses at home & when we travel domestically & internationally. Only downside was the acoustics inside - very noisy. (we were at table L5)

Loved this place. The staff was very nice. Greeted us quickly. We were sat after the table was cleaned. (Table still smelled clean so that is also reassuring it was done thoroughly). Got coffee quickly. They were so quick to also get our food out to us! They seemed busy but that never changed how friendly the staff was, and they still checked on us frequently. My food - bacon was thick slices. Banana chocolate chip crepe pancakes, delicious. One of them was crispy on the end, which I didn't like but everything else was so amazing, and it was only an end of 1, that it's fine. They were so filling i Couldnt even finish them. Would absolutely go back.
