I was very excited to come and try Pamelas, and honestly I left disappointed and VERY irritated. There was no consistency in plates, the staff was not customer focused, and it was very crowded. I ordered crepes because the girl next to me had them and they looked delicious. My crepes came out with horrible presentation compared to the other girls and had a pancake consistency rather than a crepe. The staff was kinda rude and more focused on getting things done and slapping people into seats and rushing around that it lacked customer appeal, to me, as a server myself. I was told that I should stop looking at the menu even though I already ordered because I was going to "confuse" the servers and distract them. You could tell no one had assigned sections, servers were grabbing whatever orders they could get. They were cleaning and taking tips off the table before you had a chance to put your jacket on. Finally, the atmosphere had the ambience of a typical breakfast place like DeLuca' s with the retro style and quirkiness. However, it was extremely loud and crowded. My table was not even a foot away from the tables on both sides of me and it was awkward to have a conversation and keep a focus on your date when you have someone else sitting RIGHT beside you. I had a server almost elbow me in the face trying to grab plates off of a table next to me, and when she slid in between the tables to talk to them her butt touched my table's surface. Overall, it was noisy, crowded, disappointing, and lacked quality customer service. And, it was way more expensive than any other breakfast place ringing up to 30 dollars for two people. Go to DeLucas's or Panera or literally anywhere else. The only thing this place has is good location (for college students to get breakfast after a night...

I had the pleasure of dining at Pamela's Diner recently, and I was very impressed with the food and service. I started my meal with the pancakes, which were light and fluffy. For my main course, I had the steak and eggs, which was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful. I finished my meal with the French toast, which was also delicious.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Pamela's Diner. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I would highly recommend Pamela's Diner to anyone visiting Pittsburgh.

Read moreWent to Pamela’s diner on Oakland for the first time today. Got the strawberry hotcakes and asked the waitress if I could have a side of egg whites, since the menu had egg whites listed under “extras” but not eggs. She said yes and asked if two were okay, and I said yes. The food came out super fast, and was delicious! I was all set to recommend this place to everyone, and return soon myself. However, when the check came, I had been charged $3.50 for “two eggs” and then $1.50 for “egg whites”. I was confused as to why I was charged $5 for a side of two egg whites, so I flagged down the waitress. She acted as though I was dumb and did not understand how to read the menu, and said that they don’t do sides of eggs, so she had to put it in that way in the register. I asked her why she say yes uncontested to a side of eggs if they don’t do them, and why they’re on the menu as extras, and she once again suggested I was the one that was incorrect, that there’s “nothing she can do” even though she entered the order in. I have never had an experience like this with any service, and this definitely put me off from Pamela’s diner. Friends I was with also were frustrated with the waitress, because they almost asked for a side of egg whites themselves based on the menu. It’s a shame, because the food was amazing! I just am not sure I can forgive...
