When you first sit down, they bring you a complimentary basket of shrimp chips, which neither my wife nor I had ever seen before; we thought it was a nice touch. They serve Pepsi fountain drinks, with the only diet option being Diet Pepsi (disappointing). The Thai iced coffee was delicious, but I thought it was overpriced at $3.99, considering the glass is filled with ice, so you're barely getting any actual drink, and there are no refills.
For appetizers, we got the dumplings and chicken satay. My wife said the dumplings were good. I found the chicken satay to be rather bland by itself, overly dependent upon the (delicious) peanut sauce for flavor, of which they give you a criminally small amount. I could easily use the little they give for just one stick, let alone all four.
We shared the panang curry with pork at a medium spice level. We both thought the spice level was just right. I didn't care for the pork very much; it was a bit tough, and I didn't think it had the best flavor. I would try a different meat next time. The bell peppers could have used more cook time, as they were a little too crunchy for me. The actual curry itself though had an absolutely delicious flavor; however, the consistency was too thin. At $15.99 for a small-ish bowl of curry served with a paltry amount of steamed rice, it felt like a rip-off. Rice is so cheap; I don't understand why they have to be so stingy with it.
Overall, though we enjoyed our meal, we found many areas for improvement, and I felt the value for what we got for the price was quite poor. Despite that, if we're ever in the area again, I would be open to coming back to try...
Read moreI’ve been a regular customer of Siam Thai for many months and have generally had positive experiences with both the food and service. Unfortunately, my recent experience was disappointing and raises concerns about reliability and customer communication.
I placed an online order for pickup at 4:24pm on a Wednesday. I received a confirmation stating the order would be ready by 4:50pm. When I arrived at the restaurant at that time, the door was locked and the lights were off. I wasn’t alone—others were also waiting, including another pickup customer and a couple hoping to dine in. We waited outside until well past 5:15pm, knocking and calling the restaurant multiple times without a response.
As we were leaving, we noticed the “Open” sign had just been turned on around 5:23pm. I went inside to ask about the order, only to be told it had not been started. No apology was offered for the delay or lack of communication. I was given the option to wait while it was prepared or request a refund. Given that I had already waited over 30 minutes past the promised time and the order had not yet been started, I chose the refund. As of now, I am still waiting for it to be processed.
I understand that unexpected situations can occur. However, in those cases, a brief notice on the door or a proactive message to customers with pending orders would go a long way. At minimum, an acknowledgment of the delay and a sincere apology would have helped restore trust.
I hope this feedback is taken constructively. While I’ve had good experiences here in the past, I’ll be taking a break from returning for now. For others looking for Thai food nearby, Thai Lanna in Avon provided a prompt and friendly experience just a...
Read moreWent here for Devour Indy with friends. We were waiting to be seated with 3 other couples who said the food was good. The dining room is very small maybe 10 tables. Since we were a table of 4 they sat us in the middle if the restaurant. had to pass us to get to other tables. we talked for 15 minutes beforea drink order was taken. There were 2 servers which should have been sufficient for the size of the restaurant and business tonight. However we were passed several times and other tables were served first though they were seated at the same time or after us. It took us an hour to get appetizers (crab ragoons and shrimp cigars). The ragoon that came with the devour meal took another 15 minutes to come out(3 ragon)...At this time we questioned the waitress why 3 orders of basil fried rice and crispy chicken took so long as other people had their food and were about to leave that were seated at the same time and after us. The waitress said she didn't know and it was the kitchen. At that time she goes into the kitchen and comes out with our food. The food was decent and so was pice but no apology was given or even a comp not that we expected this but at least soda since we waited so long in an uncrowded restaurant sitting in the middle of the restaurant floor. We will not be returning. We left a tip but it was far below what is typical given the service we received. not sure if it was because of our color but one has to question due to the treatment only we receivedin the restaurant. it was so obvious that another table apologized to us for waiting so long for food and had been seated after us. just not a good...
