My wife and I were looking forward to a special Christmas Eve dinner on 12/24/23 at Del Frisco's Grille, but unfortunately, our experience left us completely disappointed. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt off, and it only went downhill from there. While the wait time for our table was not awful being on a holiday (about 20-25 minutes) when we finally got to our table we were missing two chairs from our hybrid table/booth. The host lady apologized and went to go track down 1 out of the 2 chairs.
Our server was Leoncio, his attitude and deminer immediately at the service greet and throughout the entire night gave off very disinterested and unwilling to provide the level of service we expected, especially on a festive occasion like Christmas Eve.
We are both former servers having both worked at different dining restaurants (some being fine dining) over the years, and in our opinions simple things like; stating your name to the guest, asking guest what brings them in/ asking are we celebrating anything, adding just some simple conversation through out the night to the guest, and especially answering guest menu questions; without giving off snippy attitude answers back goes a long way towards the overall experience. We get it, its the last hour, of the night on a holiday, but the lack of enthusiasm was palpable from the initial greeting, making us feel more like an inconvenience rather than valued customers. This was especially highlighted when we were asked what we wanted to drink and we mentioned we were not drinking that night due to attending a Christmas party the night before and asked for other options like water, sweet tea (not available), or what was on the fountain. My wife asked about making any mocktail and was quickly brushed with the answer of "theirs only one bar tender behind the bar". A simple "let me go ask" or "let me see what I can do" goes along way.
I noticed myself he was also severing 2 other large party tables, and I get it that they are going to have way higher tabs and the tip will be bigger for him, compared to us, so he was probably willing to give them a better experience than us but as servers and an ideal goal for all restaurants should be, all guest should be given equal attention over the course of dinner (especially after those party tables were completed and had left and we were still eating as his last table).
The food did came out as we ordered and it was good. We liked our steaks and the temperature cooks were correct. The 2 back-waiters were nice when they dropped off our food to us. We also noticed we never saw a floor manager. One never came by our table to check on us and make sure everything was to our liking. Honestly, I feel like that is a simple staple of a good dinner service at any restaurant no matter what time during the shift.
We have been to the Del Frisco's Double Eagle for my wife's birthday and honestly both experiences are night and day when compared to each other. I did'nt expect the exact same experience with Double Eagle being the big brother restaurant but I just expected some similar ways of good/decent service.
Leoncio did get us a CARAMEL POT DE CRÈM after 9 which was good. I felt like we had to work to get it out of him cause his face gave it away "alot" that he didnt really want to. I mentioned I know the kitchen is wrapping for the night it up but we wanted something quick. We got there at 8 for our reservation but waiting the additional time pushed our dinner plus waiting for him to come back to check after we finished dinner competition set back the entire duration. Overall, our date night was marred by an underwhelming experience at Del Frisco's Grille. We had anticipated a memorable Christmas Eve dinner, but sadly, this was not the case. We hope the management takes note of these issues and works towards ensuring a more positive and enjoyable dining experience for ALL...

Read moreWe went for my mother's birthday as her first outing in over a year since she has been vaccinated and otherwise low in spirits. We had such a fantastic time! The restaurant was clean, staff wore masks, and the menu was mostly virtual and accessed through a QR code (though the cocktail menu and the info sheet were laminated plastic and seemed freshly cleaned). There were not partitions, closed off tables, or other social distancing measures with table spaces.
We had a house salad, shared. The vinaigrette was flavorful but not overpowering, and the croutons were nice and savory without being chalky. It was a good start to the meal to whet the appetite. My mother had the Mix & Match with the filet mignon and the crab stuffed shrimp - the filet was perfectly cooked and tender, and the shrimp were meaty, perfectly cooked, and in a creamy sauce that was decadent but not overly rich. I had the Mix & Match with the filet mignon and lemon dill salmon - the salmon was tender, with a mild herbal flavor from the cream sauce that was shared with some asparagus, and the filet was tender and wonderfully cooked. My spouse had the chop steak - the onions were flavorful but did not overpower the natural flavors of the meat; the cheese was a bit much and while the steak was good, it was clear the condiments and toppings were more forward and dominating.
We shared asparagus, broccoli, and mashed potatoes for sides. They were good portions for 3 people to share with little leftover. The main meal portions felt a bit small but were still satisfying once eaten, and any more might have simply been too rich.
For dessert we had the chocolate olive oil cake and a coconut cream pie. Desserts were good but very rich - more than one person should eat without feeling overwhelmed by the oils and sugars. My mother's cake had a candle, and she was given a hand written birthday card by the staff.
My spouse and I had delightful virgin cocktails which kept the fun flavor and excitement without the alcohol, which was deeply appreciated.
The bathrooms were clean. Parking in the garage is not very far and there are many accessible spaces. A very...
