First off, I hate doing negative reviews.
Pro - food is good.
Con(s) - the service. If you’re Filipino, don’t worry, you’ll get your food hot, fresh, and quick. If you’re any other race, good luck. Been here multiple times and this was definitely the trend. Even if you’re there 20min earlier and ordered first, your food will be given to you 35-40min later and it will be cold because the waitress lets it sit out while serving other Filipino people coming in after you. They will prioritize certain guests unfortunately. You won’t get a cup of a water, basic utensils. and napkins right away, you’ll get that last after your entire order has been brought out (which it’s all already cold by the time the first plate gets to your table). So you’ll sit there for another 10min without utensils. If you need anything extra, don’t expect them to check on you. You’ll need to go to the counter and ask.
My girlfriend politely asked for a small bowl so she can eat some sinigang soup, the waitress gives her a dirty look then hands her the bowl. I asked for an order of bbq chicken and she does the same thing, doesn’t say a word, and never brought it out to us. So I assumed she didn’t place the order. While paying she finally mentions we had the bbq chicken (which had been sitting behind the counter ready in a to-go box). By then we didn’t want it anymore cause she never said anything to us. She then blames us for not telling her we wanted our food (you’d think if we ordered it while dining in, it’ll all come the same way). But she never confirmed with us that it was going to be added to our order. So we obviously didn’t know. Even though by the time we were paying to leave and didn’t want the food anymore, we still payed for it and took it home BECAUSE she said that she was still going to charge us if we didn’t take it. SMFH also the price too damn high for basic dishes and small portions.
We’ve been here over 4 times because we love the food and it reminds us of home, we may not be Filipino but we’re are also of Asian decent. We love to support small and local spots but not coming here anymore. There’s other Filipino spots that’s more welcoming. We’re not letting these rotten experiences ruin our love for...
Read moreTHE FOOD IS GREAT! i ordered squid, chicken inasal, pork barbecue and pinakbet. I loved all of it! Authentic original filipino food! Here is why i didn’t rate a 5star. Service can be better. I am willing to wait for the food to be cooked but they served me sinigang which i did not order, i was on queue to pay and the person infront of me asked if her adobo and crispy pata is ready, all of the sudden, the staff said, ‘oh i am sorry we dont have adobo but the crispy pata is almost ready’. I was like what? Dont take the order if you don’t have adobo to begin with. Same thing happened to the next person after me, he asked if his kare kare is ready. The staff answered, i am sorry, we dont have kare kare. 😂 again, do not take the order if you dont have it.
The place can be cleaner and more organized. Floor is very slippery. Stuff are all over the place. Its like a typical turo turo in the philippines. That is not how you want to showcase the best foods of the philippines. I dont mind all those scattered merchandise but remember we are looking at the whole eating experience that your customers want to remember.
I feel that its a bit pricey. I dont mind paying more but make sure your place is clean and organized. Position your products very well.
I am saying this not to bring the restaurant down but to challenge them to make the service better. I believe they can do better than what i have experienced today. You guys have good food. Dont let other...
Read moreI am from Southern California where they even have a small area dubbed, "Historic Filipino Town." Restaurants are plenty decent food is easy to find. I decide I would set out on a journey to find some Filipino eats since relocating to the Plano area. Look no further, I've tried one other Filipino place and this place is it. I ordered the Pinakbet, Sisig (grilled) and Beef Caldereta. Hands down this has been the soul searching food I have been yearning for. For starters I do not know what kind of magic happens beyond those saloon doors but it has to be something of epic proportions. Just for context I am mistiso*. When I say magic their pinakbet is delicious. Hints of shrimp paste and delectable pork pieces, soft egg plant and bitter bitter melon. This right here is tradition. The caldereta through me for a loop, it had hearty beef chunks savory gravy, cook just right vegetables and a hint of curry yes I said it, there is a magician in that kitchen. Last but certainly not least the Sisig, charred crispy to perfection a slight hint of mayo drop kicks you with flavor in the face. I'll be back, my search is over. If I could give (Nanay I believe that is who was cooking today) and Tita in the front 10 stars I would. Thank you for delivering the comforts of growing up back to...
