I have been eating at taquerias since 2009 and even cook my own Chile relleno, and Lengua tacos, I consider myself very well experienced in Mexican cuisine. Machetes, huaraches, huitlacoche.. this Diablo blanco knows some Mexican cuisine. I guess I should’ve spent more time in the reviews because I did not expect to find hot temperature, heated up like a soup red and green salsa that honestly tasted like it came from a can from the grocery store, but I think even those would taste better. It really just tasted like watery tomato soup. Yuck.
The lengua was actually doused in some very salty, cheap seasoning, and some rancid oils .. inedible. I had to drown it in lime juice that they were thankfully generous with. Oh and it was tough- yea, tough lengua. You read that right.
And even though it is an authentic taqueria joint, usually they at least know some English. Well, this girl did not know any English at all not a single English word. Thank God I know at least a little bit of Spanish. Still it made things pretty difficult and a customer had to step in to translate for her.
I don’t know I guess because she didn’t know English, but I didn’t get checked on a single time after getting the meal, even though I wanted to order some sour cream. Not really sure how I would’ve even ordered it even whenever I tried to speak some Spanish she still didn’t really understand I guess because of my accent. Definitely felt like the...
Read moreSimply delicious! First of all, I must mention that the customer service was fantastic. We could sense that they take pride in their food. As we sat, we were served three types of salsa with chips, each one so delicious. The salsa was served warm, which is such a nice touch. Most places serve cold salsa and it's just not the same. We then received our drinks: large glasses of agua fresca (horchata, jamaice, melon)... everything fresh.. you can taste the difference. I noticed that the taco prices were different from the ones stated here on Google and was a little irritated, but when we got the tacos OMG, I understood why. They weren't your simple street tacos. These were served with handmade tortillas (regular size) and filled to the brim with meat. We ordered three each, but couldn't finish them. We also ordered the mole and camarones a la diabla (super spicy!). I cannot put into words how delicious their food is. You can tell it is made with love and the authentic flavors of Mexico. I left there very satisfied with everything. This is a place you've...
Read moreDelicious food with surprising portions. I had (stuffed) verde chicken enchiladas w/rice, beans, a jalapeño and boiled potato and it was all very flavorful. My daughter had three (stuffed) tacos w/plenty of cilantro and onions, rice and beans. We were served limes, complimentary (warm) chips and delicious red and green salsas. There are various salsa bottles already at the table.
*The boiled potato, grilled jalapeño, limes, chips and salsa without asking, two different salsas and the amount of food were excellent bonuses
We went on a Tuesday night and a young lady was taking table orders, serving tables, making drinks, taking phone orders, taking to-go orders, bagging up food and handling the register- all with a genuine smile and service.
The decor was basic and I'm sure that, had we asked, our requests would've been met for the ceiling fans be turned on, because it was hot in there or that either the music or the TV sound be turned down.
We'll...
