Hoffman's Chocolates — Restaurant in Plantation

Meh.... could be better. I usually bypass this place and go to Yogurt-land right next door, but I had a real chocolate fix and decided to give them a try. It was a Wednesday night, I believe, and young girl and Latin boy were working. Well actually... the young girl was working. The young boy was flirting with another young lady who he seemed to be absolutely smitten by, because he left a long line of customers unattended in order gaze into her eyes and chat. This boy seriously had tunnel vision and couldn't see there was a long line of customers. I literally had to ask him if he works there, after that he proceeded to assist every one (with attitude). The young boy was all over the place, didn't focus and I kept having to repeat my order. When I was given the total I was shocked ! $9.00 for one cone and two little pretzels and one chocolate covered walnut nugget. Begrudgingly, I paid because i didn't want to be a nuisance to the customers. I was not given a receipt after the transaction and when I asked for one, the young boy serviced everyone behind me before he had given me my receipt! I waited a total of 15 min for a receipt I should have gotten immediately after my transaction... everyone else got one right after, why didn't i??? After hopping in my car and scanning the receipt I noticed he added another piece of candy I didn't order, which is probably why the cost was so high. Like I said the young boy was NOT listening. The chocolate was okay... a bit too rich, but it satisfied by temporary fix. The pretzels were amazing which is why it got two stars, instead of one. But from now on I will continue to do what I've done and walk straight past this store and walk right into yogurt land next door and pay a fraction of the price for great...

The shop seemed very clean and the staff was very nice upon entering. I made my selection and as I went to pay this is where my two stars come in. We ordered one item of ice cream and as were about to cash out the cashier informs us that there is a special for buy one get one free. At first I thought great let’s get another one, but as I am in the middle of talking to her to get clarification about this she rings up my card for the one item only. I told her okay then we will get another cone, she says she already rung it up and that means she would have to change it in the system. I tried to tell her to change it so we could receive the deal, she did not and persisted on giving us the receipt to pay when we tried to get the second cone. She was not very helpful and she refused to change the order. I felt like she didn’t care and couldn’t be bothered. I also felt that she hurried to charge our card so she could use that as an excuse to not give us the buy one get one free deal. I don’t understand why she told us about it if she wasn’t willing to honor the special. I am very upset about this situation. I am not interested in returning...

A fun little ice cream and chocolate shop tucked inside a shopping area. The parking lot was a touch difficult as they are on the main strip and that parking fills up fast. So we had to park in a larger lot area a little walk away. Not a huge deal - get those steps in for more chocolate enjoyment!

They are a smaller boutique style store with candy and packaged items to the right and then their cold chocolate case and ice cream to the left. There are a few seats outside if you want to eat before you go. Hubs got some ice cream, I had a marshmallow chocolate stick, which is my fave go to for chocolate fixes.

The marshmallow was tasty and hit the sweet tooth just right. Cashier was friendly and helpful. She offered a loyalty card, but we passed as we don't live in the area.

Overall: A Fun little sweet shop tucked away in a shopping plaza. Try the chocolate covered marshmallow or ice cream! Parking...
