Friendly service. Stromboli has unique pizzas you can’t find other places. My FAVORITE is the Lasagna pizza and chicken Marsala pizza.
I am changing my review due to today’s experience which was handled incorrectly in my opinion due to the owner and/or the manager. The girl at the front was WONDERFUL, as always!
I called and asked for a chicken Marsala pizza which they do not have on their menu hopefully joking that they would make it because it’s not on the menu, but sold by the slice which I have been getting regularly. The lady said they’d make it so I was surprised and happy.
Shortly after, I got a call from the manager with a higher price than the total I was given because she called the owner since it wasn’t on the menu. That to me was unprofessional of a small business as a small business owner and being a part of my family’s business I feel the same way. If a price was given I correctly, honor it.
What struck this review change for real was the conversation I had with the manager. She explained the misunderstanding which I totally understand. What bothered me was that she’d “have to explain to the owner the error and she personally would have to eat the loss.” How absurd of a boss if that is true. How could an owner penalize the manager for a simple one-time mistake? I’d NEVER do that to my employee, manager, at my financial coaching company or my family’s flower shop. If we made a price mistake that was small, like $9 (in this case) I’d never make them eat the cost. The staff have to keep roofs over their head as well. They work hard! They always make it a pleasant experience.
She tried to give me a guilt trip about how she is struggling and would have to eat the cost because the owner would make her. I totally believe her and understand her situation. It’s the owners policy if that is true. How uncaring!
This is one of my favorite places and I fully understand the higher price moving forward. My issue was not honoring what was said and that owner would do that to a customer of 9 years (4 time eating here in the last 2 weeks).
That said I will continue to come since they honored the price, but if I see the owner not treating his staff better over a ONE TIME error, that may stop me...
Read moreHonestly, I did not try the restaurants namesake. Probably safer that way. We ordered a cold antipasti, a "brick-oven" pizza and something else. I tend not to recall restaurants that leave NO taste in the mouth. So the antipasto, true there cuts of salame and cheese and bufalo mozarella, and caponata. The salami was edible, not saying much because i could have saved a ton of money going to whole foods instead. The cheese was Parmigiano Reggiano in 1 inch chunks. This is NOT a soft triple creme. So I felt like a rodent gnawing at a piece of stale cheese. As piquant as the Reggi is, it was hard and not a good chewing experience with the salame and other things. The caponata tasted out of a jar - made in italy. If it was homemade, where are the raisins?. The mozarella was definitely not fresh made. None of the soft subtleness, the light taste and the feathered whisp of a salty finish. A real Italian ristorante would make their own every morning. The tomato, well it's tomato......no comment. The service was bordering on atrocious. No knowledge of the middling menu, no recommendations, nor a friendly smile. The restaurant business is a SERVICE business. So at the base of her responsibility, do your job. Last thing... brick oven pizza. Yes it was. hard as...
Read moreSo me and family decided to go there after my daughter's softball championship game. And it was very disappointing. I decided something different for everyone. I ordered baked ziti and when came to the table you can tell it was microwaved and they put a slice of cheese on top and microwaved it to melt the cheese and it was so watery and not even hot. It was the WORST baked ziti we have tried. I also ordered the lasagna and the same thing ,it was microwaved with a cheese on top and it had a funny taste and the pasta was hard in the bottem. It was the WORST lasagna we have tasted. I still don't know why it was hard in the bottom and had no taste. I also ordered the chicken parmagian and it was disappointing. Just tasted bad and breading was soggy and pasta was very watery. The only thing that tasted good was the Pizza, salad and garlic rolls, It was very good. Other than that don't order anything else but that. The only reason we went there was because of the good reviews but never again will we go back again. Stick to the Pizza only and you won't be...
