The New J Bar — Restaurant in Plantation

Saturday night, 11pm. I wanted to watch a football game that wan't on TV and i was hungry. So I decided to check out this "hidden gem" or whatever they call it. It was happy hour (yay) so i got a corona bottle and ordered some wings (7).

Everyone was very nice. There were like 5 guys sitting at the bar, a few more milling around and one chick dancing around with her boyfriend. Ok. So I'm watching the game, killed one corona and ordered up my next (free) one. Soon i noticed that half an hour had passed since i ordered my wings. I asked one of the bartenders how my wings were coming along. She dipped back into the kitchen then came back to the bar without saying anything. I killed my second beer and asked her to make my wings to go, as the game was now over.

Bottom line: 5 guys at the bar, 2 bartenders and 45 minute wait for my wings. The chick obviously forgot to put my order through. Either that, or it takes them 45 mins to cook up 7 wings with no other food orders. Either way, not a good way to get repeat customers.

When i finally got my wings I asked for the bill. $18. My corona cost $7. (The strip club i go to sells imports for $5). The 7 wings were $10. The tab:$18. I left a $20 bill and felt as if i had OVER tipped.

When i got home and ate the wings they were fried and greasy, Quality: somewhere around what you get at Miami Subs. (Probably not as good as Miami Subs). Mediocre at best, i saw some pizza slices being handed out too. Looked like Dominos. Food quality: D Service: D Value: D

Friendly, yes, but if you like a bar with really bad food that takes forever to get to you and overpriced beer and NO chicks then this place is for you. By the time i left the live band came on and i dont want to trash the band, but i dont know, nothing was clicking here. I wouldn't call it a "dive" bar, it's more like a yuppy wannabe bar with bad food and poor service with no chix. No pool table. But they do have TV's. So yea, 2 stars. At best.

I'll take a dive bar with decent food and good service and a pool table with a few chicks in the place any day over this place. The wings really sucked. So...

I just left this restaurant. So upset!!!! One of the WORST restaurant I have ever been to !!!!!!

I told the bartender that it was my first time here and what did she recommend ? She took me to guys behind the scene where they make the pizza and I told them just give me a sampler plate ! No more than 7 minutes later they brought out my dish ......,, and I said "wow" that was quick !!!

It looked like one big blob!!!!!! It was supposed to be eggplant, veal and chicken.....,,,

It was cold !!!!! They simply went into thier frig and took out a potion of chicken, eggplant and veal. And threw it in the plate !!!!

What a horrible experience. !!! I said to them "what is this" !!! It was cold and horrible !!!!

I went back to the guys who said they were going to give me a sample of thier signature dishes. When I said to them what in the world is this???? It's cold as ice and it all taste the same !!!! they ignored me and gave me the long blank face !!!

I was actually scared to order anything else to replace it because I said to myself thier ust gonna "spit" in it !!!!!

It's similar to the old Jacaranda Pub. I worked there around 10 years ago and the only thing that seems to change what is the register, the bartender and the lack of a crowd. We went at the time where other bars close... Which used to be their busiest times because the bartenders and the stuff from other bars that close would go there or if a bar close at 2 they would go there because they were open till 4. It was just me and my husband and three other people at the bar. At first we were greeted with a somewhat annoyed bartender, I can't say annoyed I can say arrogant either he loosened up or I did after a few cocktails LOL. But it just seems to be the same place except that they took out the pool tables too. That used to be a big thing there too. Anyway I was down there Monday so you have to take that into consideration but that's also the time that most other people in the business have off so they didn't have it ITB crowd. But like I said before oh, I have no idea what it's like during...
