This review is specifically for the fantastic customer service that was given to me after a crazy weekend experience. Over the weekend I placed an online order for 6 cinnamon rolls. However, on the website, it specifically stated if you’re ordering 5 or more cinnamon rolls online, to call the location to check for availability. So, I called first to make sure they had 6 for me to pick up. I was on hold for 35+ minutes and no one picked up. I thought that was really odd for a restaurant to not pick up on an early evening. So, I placed the online order anyway. 21 minutes later, my order stated it would be ready for pick up. I came into the store, and saw that every female individual who existed in Utah County, was there, having dinner, having a girls night out, having a bonding experience - the place was PACKED. I make my way to the pick up/online order station, along with 4-6 people there, waiting anxiously to get noticed, waiting to be helped. I stood there for at least 25 minutes, waiting my turn to finally be helped. When I finally got helped (by the cashier herself) she looked up my online order and headed for the back to attempt to fetch it. When she asked her manager Brandon, I watched as he stated to her, “we don’t have anymore cinnamon rolls”. Omg the disappointment! So long story short, had a not so great experience for my first time in this location. They were bombarded with customers, unusually at capacity for their normal Saturday night. However, being one of those customers, I reached out to Brigham, the manager and informed him of my experience. He was grateful for my efforts in letting him know. That same night, Danny finally called me back and apologized for the long wait we had to endure of being there. Today, I came in and met Christian, assistant manager, and we had a heart to heart talk about what happened over the weekend. Christian was so endearing, so caring, and you can tell he truly cared about how I was treated and wanted to make things right. Christian made a positive impact on me, and because of him and Brigham, and Danny, I will come back to this place, feeling welcome, feeling important as a customer, and feeling valued as a voice. Yes, Village Baker has my heart with their cinnamon rolls, but now, it has my loyalty due to the way they want their customers feeling, leaving and walking out happy,...
Read moreNot many places can nail a pizza, sandwich, salad, and desserts! Village Baker has them all mastered. This is the place we visit when we want a healthy meal or when we want to eat something a little more indulgent. They carry my two favorite sandwiches: turkey, Swiss, avocado and the egg salad sandwich. Both are phenomenal! They also have a great Cobb salad. My co-worker swears by their pizza, and we were able to try their cookies today and were thrilled! Everyone working here had a smile and was extremely kind. They helped our group with our order eagerly and were genuinely nice when they brought the food out. I’ve had several experiences at this location where the staff was positive and kind to me. So nice!
We truly love this place. The only thing they could improve is minimizing their waste. I don’t know of a restaurant that uses more products or styrofoam. It would be nice if they’d just switch out their cups with glass ones as many restaurants do and then provide cardboard to-go boxes to those taking their meals to-go. Hopefully this would be an ideal solution!
Overall, we have been thrilled with the food and service of this location and will continue coming here often and recommending...
Read moreI don’t ever review places in a public setting, so this says a lot. I scanned the little QR feedback pamphlet that asked for reviews at the table. I placed a review and anticipated a prompt reply, after all, they asked for it. I guess I was wrong. I haven’t heard anything for about 6 weeks. I have patiently waited for an explanation, which never came. So here we are.
Flashback to mid August: Soup of the day? Not so much…. At about 6pm we ordered Chunky Stuffed Potato soup and Broccoli Cheese soup. 5 minutes after ordering, we were informed Chunky Stuffed Potato was gone but they asked if Broccoli Cheese was ok for both orders. Sure, not a big deal. 15 minutes later, there was only enough Broccoli Cheese to fill one order but they could make more Chunky Potato, it would be another 15 minutes until more potato soup was ready. It took 50 minutes to get Broccoli Cheese and an hour after our initial order, the Chunky Potato Soup was still cold and they said it wouldn’t be ready for another 20-30 minutes.
6 people in our group were done eating for well over 20 minutes before I got my meal, and my dad left with nothing after waiting for over an hour.
As a first-time customer, I was...
