Soi 4 Thai — Restaurant in Pleasant Valley Township

I lived in the same city for 22 years, and I accumulated a long list of restaurants that I would (more in theory than in practice) recommend to visitors. I've been living in the quad cities for three years now, and I have places I like to eat, but not many I would point to and say, "When you come here, you Have to have a meal there."

This unassuming little restaurant makes me feel like a local, because I finally have a great place to recommend to outsiders. Between three people, we ordered three appetizers and three entrees, and everything was incredible. I don't think I can overstate how good the food was. The portions are large enough to feed you for two mealtimes, but good luck having the self control to not clean your plate.

Since I've never been to Thailand, I can't speak to the authenticity, but I did notice at least one spot on the menu where the chef references a meal from their hometown (I'll have to order it next time!). I can't wait to come back, and while I hope they get more customers (only 31 reviews??), I also kind of want to keep it to myself!! But food this good deserves...

Soi 4 Thai is a cozy, small restaurant that impresses with its cleanliness, warm atmosphere, and exceptional service. The staff is attentive, friendly, and truly makes you feel at home. The tamarind chicken is crispy and sweet but not too sweet. The mango curry- a perfect harmony of sweet, creamy, and savory flavors that will leave you savoring every bite. Their crispy pork belly—a masterpiece of tender meat with a perfectly crunchy exterior. We also enjoyed the papaya salad and tom yum soup as well as the chicken satay paired with a delicious peanut dipping sauce. Everything was delicious and we can’t wait to go back!

My father and I came in and they were very busy taking orders on the phone and with us in person, we ordered, paid and went next door to wait for our food. When we got home with our food we were missing an item, I was frustrated and called in. They said we never ordered the item and ultimately our receipt didn’t show that we did, they were right. But they were very nice and very professional, and the food was the best Thai food we have had in the area. We have even ordered from their other locations but this location was the best. I wanted to make sure to post a review and really encourage people to go here, they are very professional and the food...
