La Herradura Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Pleasant Valley Township

We walked in here this past Sunday on what looked like a busy evening. Got seated right away but sat there for at least ten minutes before we were greeted and given drinks. Ambiance was pretty lively full with families and friends enjoying their time. Our server was running from the patio to the dining area where we were so the logistics of the situation for him seemed a bit hard but again he kept running past us when he could’ve quickly came to take our order. At least get drinks taken care of. Having worked in a restaurant as a server myself I felt kind of frustrated. We were traveling through so we just wanted to eat and get on with our drive.

We end up putting our drink order and then he takes a bit longer to come to get our food order. Again zooming past us at least a few times. My mom ends up asking him for a side of some spicier salsa and he gives off a bit of attitude like saying I don’t know if I can do that, in his opinion it was him being funny but it honestly rubbed me the wrong way. We already have been waiting on you and you want to be sarcastic like come on. My mom awkwardly laughed because in her innocence she didn’t even realize at first he was joking.

The food to my surprise came out fast. I ordered the Fagabo and it was delicious. My mom enjoyed la herradura steak. My son is always happy with shrimp, cheese and rice. My husbands order however did not come with the side of rice, beans and lettuce it claimed to have. He enjoyed his meal none the less with some tortillas. After I noticed they didn’t even bring out all his food I was disappointed. We still ended up leaving a pretty good tip but I hope they change the way that they treat their guests next time. Also maybe place their servers in areas where they don’t have to be running back and...

So me and my boy Lucas (real OG in the streets of the QC) go on lunch after we get done servicing a client near the event plex, and we decided we wanted something above fast food.. so we sat down and chilled at La Herradura… let’s just say everything was chill until my Shrimp Diablo and his sizzlin Fajitas came out STEAMIN!!! I lowkey ordered the Mojo de Ajo camerones but wasn’t even pressed when I saw how fresh and quality the food came out.. and our waitress had the most beautiful, genuine smile, combine that with the most calming voice you’ve heard all day and it’s like you know what? She prolly messed up my order for my own good!! I popped some bubbly with a mandarin Jaritos talked about life with my fellow foo and was a bottle of Don away from a fiesta dawg!!!! Anyways one of the best 45 minute lunch breaks I’ve had in a minute the place looks beautiful and it’s in a super thriving area… this is really gonna be the spot for a while. We have been to the new bettendorf location a few times now. Nachos are good, but lots of lettuce toppings, fill size tomatoes, and not enough queso cheese. None of the locks in the female bathroom lock. The place is brand new. I told the waitress, and she stated the boss knows from another complaint, but has not fixed it yet. Our waiter was no where to be found, so a different waitress had to help us. Personally the leclaire location is way better. Staff is always friendly,...
