I typically avoid giving reviews like the one that I am about to give Buddy's Pizza in Plymouth on Beck road, but what I experienced tonight is something that I cannot turn a blind eye to. It has nothing to do with the product as the pizzas we purchased were quite good even though we had to microwave them when I got home. It is all about the service I received from the Carryout counter.
The short version is that I walked in to the Carryout counter and placed and paid for two pizzas. I was told it would take about 35 minutes so I asked if I could grab a seat at the bar (which is right outside the door of the Carryout counter) as I have a medical condition that makes standing in one spot for half an hour a problem. The response was "sure, we will bring the pizzas to you at the bar".
All set, right? Piece of cake (or should I say pizza)? Wrong.
After 45 minutes waiting in the bar I stuck my nose next door at the Carryout counter to get an update and was told it would be a few more minutes. After an hour, I did the same thing and was told that I was next. Finally after an hour and 15 minutes had passed, I again inquired but was told that this time that the pizzas had been done for some time and waiting for me. As no one could find me they put the pizzas aside.
This is not the first time I have experienced such a remarkable breakdown in communication/coordination between the Carryout counter and the bar area at this Buddy's. I do not know why it is so impossible for this Buddy's location to have someone order carryout pizzas and wait for them at the bar. But it apparently is beyond their skill set.
My recommendation to anyone walking in to this Buddy's and ordering carryout pizza from the Carryout counter is to plan on staying in the Carryout area the whole time it takes to make and receive your order. On the other hand, if you plan on waiting on your carryout order sitting at the bar, then place your entire order at the bar, including the carryout portion. Do not under any circumstance count on any communication/coordination happening between the bar and the Carryout counter, I don't care what they tell you to the contrary. Not gonna happen. You will end up with lukewarm pizza when you get home that will need microwaving.
This is update to the above review as of September 24, 2023. Just tried a carryout order thru the carryout counter and their ability to screw things up is still razor sharp. Apparently when pizzas come out of the oven and are ready for pick-up, no one thinks to call out the name of who ordered the pizza. With the result that the pizza sits around getting cold while the person placing the order wonders why it is taking so long for their pizza.
Unbelievable! Another carryout pizza having to be microwaved as soon as it gets home.
Once again, DO NOT ORDER CARRYOUT PIZZA FROM THIS PLACE AT THE CARRYOUT COUNTER (unless you like cold pizza). Go to the bar and order it there. The bar staff know how to get you hot and ready...

I believe his name was jimmy. My sister, niece, and I all went out to dine here because it’s been a tradition before the new school year starts each year. When we were seated at our table we noticed that there was a Ford emblem directly behind myself that was previously attached to the wall using duct tape but was now dangling. We thought nothing of it and decided to just enjoy our time together. After we ate and paid our bill I decided to attempt to re attach the emblem. As soon as I touched the emblem it fell off and your general manger (jimmy) walked up to us very aggressively. Me and my family were laughing because to us it was a simple small mistake. He angrily told us that we were making his life difficult and asked me why I broke it I apologized sincerely because it was never at all my intention seeing as though I originally was attempting to be helpful. He snatched the emblem out of my hand and stormed off. Me and my family were shocked to say the least. The rest of the time we were there he walked past our table giving us dirty looks and mumbling curses to himself . Never in my life have I felt more disrespected at a restaurant. I personally believe it was a racial issue seeing as though me and my family were the only black people in the restaurant at the time and he’d been walking around greeting and smiling at other customers. I’m so incredibly disappointed and emotionally distraught not only were his actions disrespectful but also embarrassing to do in front of the...
Read moreTerrible, terrible experience. Buddy's was recommended to us by a friend so we thought we'd try it. We ordered from the Plymouth location on 1/8/2021. We ordered at 5:28 pm for pickup and the email said it'd be ready at 6:13pm. Fine, so we got there right on time at 6:13. We waited ten minutes unsure of what to do in the lot.. we didn't know if we could go in to get our food or what. The order email had no instructions. We called and waited on hold and was finally told a runner would be out to get our order number. Another 15 min pass before a kid shows up, gets our number and then just never comes back. He even came to the car next to us (who arrived much later) to get their number even though he had never brought our food. He actively ignored us when we rolled out window down again to talk to him. We finally went inside and I said we'd been sitting here for a half hour. The cashier rudely said that wait time is 40 minutes and walked away before I could say that we had ordered 80 minutes ago. Then she gets the food and pretends to be nice to me probably because she finally saw our order time. The pizza was room temp so we had to take it home and reheat it. Super disappointed and upset.
This far into the pandemic, how do they not have the process together for pickup? I was trying to support a local business but I won't ever be back. Would...
