Stewart's Root Beer — Restaurant in Point Pleasant Beach

I truly wish I can give this place negative stars for everything. My girlfriend and I went there this evening and had a horrible experience. It's cash only which you need a large chunk of change if you are willing to eat here. The food is ridiculously expensive, the portions are ridiculously small and the quality is complete garbage. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich that was one of the "specials." It was special alright. The alleged chicken breast was the size of a chicken nugget. Being that this sandwich was $14, I asked the waitress if it came with fries. She simply replied...Yes its a small basket and showed me the size using her hands. So I said ok I will have that. After being extremely disappointed with the price, quality and portion size, I asked for the check. I was giving 2 tiny receipts stapled together. One had all of out food on it with the total printed and handwritten by the waitress. The top copy was a receipt for a $5 small order of fries with a new handwritten amount. Initially, I was confused because I was told the "special" came with a small basket of fries. Also, I was confused why the 2nd receipt was even printed. I ordered all my food at once so why would there be a second receipt with a revised total. I then questioned the waitress and said that she clearly told me the fries came with the "special" so why are you charging me for fries? She replied that she never said that but said that it did come with fries if you order fries with it. First of all, she never said that. Second, thats like saying it comes with a hot dog as long as you order a hit dog with it. She continued to lie to my face then walked away. I asked the girl at the counter if there was a manager I can speak with and was told....technically no, not really. I refused to pay for the fries which were pretty much the crumbs at the bottom of a frozen french fry bag. The girl eventually said ok and not to.worry about it. Hands down the worst experience I have ever had. Please do yourself and favor and go somewhere else. There are plenty of upscale restaurants that will be less money and...

Truly ruined my day. Terrible service. Told us that because my friends had take out food from another restaurant, even though I was going to order from them (because I could not eat the seafood that my friends had from the other restaurant), that we had to leave, even though I was preparing my order. The waitresses were looking at us, talking about us, and clearly did not want us there. I decided not to order because of their rude attitudes and gave them their menus back, then we began to leave as they asked. Then as we were leaving, the manager followed us to our cars and cursed at us for "wasting their time" and accused me of never wanting to buy anything at all. He also threatened to "drop" my friend who was very noticibly upset. We were there for a total of 10 minutes. We continuously begged him to leave us alone and told him repeatedly that we were leaving like they asked and that I was indeed planning on ordering. The manager kept shouting at us. They then took our license plates and threatened to call the police on us for not leaving fast enough, even though we were pulling out of the drive way. Then, they taunted us as we left. Truly terrible attitudes. I have never felt so terrorized or been met with such rude service in my life. If they had taken the time to attempt to understand our situation, rather than jumping to conclusions and accusations, they would have had my business. I've been to Stewart's all my life and it's a big part of my childhood at the shore. This certain Stewart's is an insult to those memories. The waitress was extremely rude to me because I had a tray of clams from down the street even though I planned to buy food from them as well. Waitresses continued to stare and talk about us rudely. I decided to move to my tailgate in the parking lot to avoid confrontation while my girlfriend ordered. The the manager came out and demanded we leave for wasting their time.
